Thank you. This video saved me today. I just couldn’t get that cable back on. Removing the cable from the bracket giving more slack is the secret sauce. Thanks so much!!

Videos are a bit slow going! But love your consistency! I enjoy working on Subarus too and owned my version 8 wrx for nearly 8 years now and I'm confident in doing everything myself and replace my own cam belt and seals after watching one of your videos I think.

Great Video as usual. Something strange happened to my 2007 AT outback over the weekend , I was driving at low speed towards a red light, felt like the front end of the car (but not the rear) run over a sharp narrow ditch in the road and the ABS light came on. I came to a stop at the red light. I put the car into park the ABS light turned OFF!!!!??? Been driving no problem. I am probably due for new brakes and tires, is that it, or could it be something else? Thanks for your help. By the way the street is new and it is unlikely that I hit a brick in the road, it really felt like the front tires stopped rotating for a fraction of a second.

Thanks man! This is an odd one. Can’t be sure to be honest. Doesn’t really sound like something worn brakes or tires would cause. Was there any ice on the road? Sometimes when you hit a little patch of black ice it messes with the ABS system. To be safe, probably good idea to have a shop look things over to make sure something isn’t starting to come apart in the brake system, it could be that too. Like if a brake caliper bolt fell out and the caliper is slipping around, it might slide into a spot that locks up that tire for a sec, then gets freed up a sec later. Just to be sure there’s not something like that happening, should get it checked out. Let me know what you find. Be safe brother. 👍

Thanks I will change the brakes over the weekend and check things over, there was no snow, but you can never rule out oil on the road, especially before a red light when clunkers stop for the lights

@@SubaruONLY Update so I changed all 4 brakes. right wheel hub is seriously rusted otherwise no problem, cleaned it was hoping for the best. ABS came on, once, for 30 sec and then off again (without putting the car in park). At this point suspecting rust interfering with right front speed sensor,Next I need the car code tested, should have probably started with that!

@@SubaruONLY yeah mate that's it init. I have a 2005 non turbo impreza wagon which is cable throttle and my 07 forester is dbw which is also non turbo but is the 158 bhp where as my impreza is 123bhp, could I take the intake manifold and throttle body and peddle assembly and put it in the forester?
@SubaruONLY5 жыл бұрын
Not without swapping more stuff over. I believe the engine ECU for the DBW motor needs to see that throttle plate signal and if you ditch it for a cable throttle body, it may be problematic.
@decdean38315 жыл бұрын
@@SubaruONLY other stuff like what? Also my forester has avcs and I'm fairly sure my impreza doesn't. I prefer the feel of the cable but if it's too much trouble to do I won't bother but if it's not too much of a job I'll be doing it

I like to clean those electrical connectors with WD 40 and scrub them with an old toothbrush. Follow up by blowing them out with compressed air.

Nice idea man, that’s a new one to me but I’ll try it out for sure! 👊
