@@HelpMeDIY If you were to wrap it, what colour do you think you'd use?
@HelpMeDIY4 жыл бұрын
James Zilla I haven’t thought about it really, I guess carbon fiber is the easy choice, but wouldn’t really match anything else as it stands now.

Thanks for the very informative video. I replaced my shifter assembly with a shorter quick throw shifter yesterday. MAN, it is tight and solid now when shifting. The 6 speed shift pattern is very tight. Feels like a brand new car now. Merry Christmas :) :) Mine's a 2004 Boxster S midnight blue :)

Brilliant video I needed to see how the gearstick cable was attached as something has come loose as I cannot get out of gear.

Thanks for sharing this. It helped me. One thing that I found is that you can snake the shift boot through the console without removing the shift knob. Also, removing the coin holder permanently allows for an iPhone 13 Max Pro to fit into the storage bin, plugged in. I drilled a hole in the spot for the coin holder. I could always return the coin holder in the future. But who uses coins?😊

On the ashtray there should be 3 electric connections. 2 for the windows and 1 for the ashtray light. It appears someone didn't plug it in last time

Hi, what's the brown cable with the small black connector for, do you know?
@HelpMeDIY2 жыл бұрын
I believe that is the electrical connection for the light in the ash tray that someone prior to me left disconnected.

I want to remove the carpet, deep clean it in the shower with degreaser and a scrubbing brush. Carpet out to also inspect for any history of moisture and ensure all dry. Its dry at the back. I've deep cleaned the rear carpets already as were easy to remove

Don’t think you wiring for the ashtray light was connected or the wiring for the centre console lock.
@HelpMeDIY4 жыл бұрын
+Zaheed Sankriwala yes two connections were loose, but I figured they were for options I didn’t have, like heated seats or something. I bet one was the ashtray light as I saw the bulb and never knew it had a light. What wiring does the console lock have/do?
@Zsanky4 жыл бұрын
Help me DIY I think I can see both plugs in your video. The plug with the brown wires is for lock
@HelpMeDIY4 жыл бұрын
+Zaheed Sankriwala yeah there are definitely two plugs. I’m just asking what the one for the lock does, if you know.
@Zsanky4 жыл бұрын
Help me DIY Oh sorry misunderstood. I think it sounds the horn, if the lid hasn’t been closed properly when you lock the car. Not 100% what it does.
@HelpMeDIY4 жыл бұрын
Zaheed Sankriwala interesting because mine does that... 🤔

German engineering, 14 screws and 10 covers to remove a center console!

from a time when German cars were over-engineered to last forever. now, that's not the case. the 986 boxster still feels built like a tank.
