How to remove the Polaris XP 1000 Ranger Primary Clutch

I work for Polaris rework and u can take the clutch out hole by using that tool but u have to take the black part and the two washers then put that tool in

I agree. I have a 2021 polaris ranger North Star 2021 and I had bought a clutch puller on Amazon. Thought they sent me the wrong one, followed the above instructions. Removed the black part, and two washers. Now the clutch puller fits like a glove.

Clutch puller wouldn't take mine off....was stuck tight. Ended up taping about 3/4 of the shaft closed with electrical tape, filled with gear lube then used a regular 3/4” bolt and spun it in with the impact. Pressed it out like a hydraulic cylinder. Makes a heck of a bang though when it let loose!

Our ranger 1000xp was making a clicking noise in the rear end and would jerk when we took off is this an indication that the clutch is going out or has issues?

Hard to say, always best to take the clutches off and look at them and see what you see.

@@Hunterworks well it was doing those things and we took it to back to the dealer because it was under warranty. They said it just makes those noises nothing to worry about. Well now it’s blown a belt and we have gotten in there and the clutch plate is cracked. And of course it’s not under warranty now. 😡 the fact is we knew something was wrong but we trusted them.

it is not the clutch it is the shaft itself if you are grabbing the whole clutch and pulling and pushing and feel it moving.

locks out the ebs mechanism that fails a lot, the better fix is the EBS delete which we have

I know this is an older video, I chose to save $25 and not buy a clutch tool because his video shows you wiggling this primary and it comes off. Mine would not come out. So I left my machine down overnight and went to my dealer the next day to buy that tool. Mine didn’t come off easy at all and has low miles.

You can't use a puller on this clutch until you pull the outside half off. What vehicle do you have?
