Thanks and appreciate all the good work on the videos. Really has helped me

@@Rythecarguy , count on it! ... By the by, I confirmed that you are right, on another vid, where you take people through the removal of the head unit, that the center trim will crumble as being removed, even if you are careful (perhaps, on some of the older Xterra's that get hammered with sun light, like down here in Texas!) Like your vehicle, I had to order a replacement earlier this week!😃 Be well!

Hello, Ryan I just bought an aftermarket stereo for my 2011 Xterra. I had a question about the wire harness. I bought a harness that’s designed for my truck. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to hook it up to you. The new harness hooks up to the existing plug coming out of the dash? Then I connect the new harness to the existing harness that connects to the back of the new radio? I thought you had a video of this, showed even the installation of the microphone and CarPlay USB wire. I think I just hurt my brain. If you can clarify this for me, I would be eternally grateful.
@Rythecarguy2 жыл бұрын
Hey Andy. Yes, the harness you bought for your vehicle is the one you plug into the existing plug from your vehicle. The open wires on that harness get connected to the harness for the radio. Here is the video you might be referring to. Check it out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/f32lp6Ofmr-tnNU

Just want to say that your videos are great. was going to do the spark plugs myself but decided to have them done by a professional. I have 2 questions for you. I have a 2005 exterra with a Rockford Fosgate system in it and want to replace it with a newer system. have looked around and would cost me close to $600 to have someone do it for me. I look at systems between $100 to $200 that would do just fine for me. My concern is bypassing the amp that came it. Second question is my oil gauge runs high on the engine is on. I have no engine issues or oil linking. I figure I need to replace the oil sensor . Any help would be greatly apprenticed. Thank you and good up the great work you do

The easiest, fastest, and cheapest way to eek out more MPG would be to make it easier for air to get into the motor and exhaust to get out. you could get a "cold air" intake or "RAM air" intake or upgrade your exhaust system. I live in a city so a ram or cold air intake would not be a problem. However if you drive a lot of dusty roads you may want to invest in exhaust or just make sure you get a really good filter for whatever intake you buy. Also if you live in an area with strict emissions policies make sure if you get a new exhaust that it adheres to any emissions regulations.
@Bristol24guy6 жыл бұрын
Okay so this is two years late but I do have a warning/suggestion. If you are getting a faint to moderate whine from the engine when you accelerate, and that is more pronounced when the engine is cold, you may have worn-out timing chain guides which causes the timing chain to be a bit slack and can impact valve timing. If the guides are not replaced, they will eventually wear down to the point where they break the chain. Since the Nissan V6 is an interference engine (valves and pistons occupy the same space at different times), a timing chain break while the engine is running is a catastrophic (expensive) failure. Anyway, we found that after the new timing chain and guides, the engine had considerably more zip and mileage went up, especially on the freeway. This timing chain guide problem can occur early in some vehicles (under 100,000 miles). Ours did not manifest itself with noise (which I mistook for an alternator starting to have problems) until about 175,000 miles and we did not get it fixed until we learned of this specific Nissan issue until 194,000. These are great engines with a slight design flaw (now corrected with the new parts).
