Screen can be detached inserting a paper clip in some specific holes of the tablet. The holes of interest are on both sides. Counting from the hinges are holes number 6. The paper clip goes in easily, but it goes in at an angle. Don't try to insert straight. Using your cellphone light to illuminate and closely look at it will give you an idea on how to angle the paper clip. Sh, and use the large type of paper clips.

@@rohan5241 Yes. You have to insert it at a upward diagonal angle (towards the top center of the screen). You will need to do it on both sides and the magnet that wants to keep it seated is somewhat strong, so I have done it where I pop one side out and then insert a business card or something similar in between to keep that side from relatching when I do the other side. While watching I kept thinking there has to be a better way to heat the glue without damaging the screen. I pictured a large chunk of metal laid on top edges of glass maybe using something like thermal paste to help transfer heat quicker so it doesnt spread out as much by heating for long periods of time at slower rate. Looked online for soldering iron tips and there is one called a "T tip" that looks interesting. If i had to do this a lot that would be my goto route trying to heat small sections and wedge some thin metal between the parts I have already split leaving the thin metal behind as I go ensuring i dont rebond it when heating the next section. could also try to use thermal double sided tape on area of screen just below where you are working to mount a heatsink in an attempt to ensure a sharp thermal transition zone from glued edge to LCD.

Super simple with the iFixit iOpener. Just did this a few weeks ago. It's a simple pad you heat in the microwave and place on the sides.
