Good job Darrin. The actual work was not as bad as the unknown of how much that TV would weigh. You are a brave guy to go at it yourself. I did this job today but I am converting the TV cabinet to a storage cabinet the new TV sits on a new cube Tv base bookcase in the location where our horrible couch used to be. We sit in rocking recliners that sit where the cramped dinette used to be. We were tired of the twist body position we had to assume while sitting on the couch or dinette to view the up front TV. Your new TV will be light enuff to mount on a piece of plywood you can mount to your cabinet frame on a piano hinge which will let you swing that TV out and have storage behind. Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for showing how to remove older tv in your RV. I'm planning to do the same in my 2004 winnebago and install a flatscreen. I went to a Business today that wanted $2,200 and two days to do the same thing.

I Did the same thing removing mine and then took measurements for a new flat screen then went to Walmart and other TV retailers and found a nice replacement TV That can run on 12 volt and 120 that fitted my dimensions then bought a swivel self storing type TV Mount so i could push it back flat for travel or pull it out and swivel it towards my driving position when i use the HDMI to switch over to the rear camera for reversing. It saved having to buy a little TV monitor for backing up safely. That's the cool thing about modern electronics being so versatile.

Watched it again, and mine is a 2007, Seabreeze XL, but has the same TV and looks exactly the same. Thanks again.

Thank you so very much. I have the same make, model, year, and TV. I've been thinking the only way to get access to the screws was to take off the curtains, curtain rod, and the entire plastic shroud, which would have been a HUGE MESS. Comparatively, your way will be a piece of cake. Do you have a video of what TV you put in and how you finished the project?

Sorry but I did not make a video of the new TV install I can always show you a picture but I got side tracked and started working on the job and not thinking about video taping it

Mine has no screws, no cabinets next to it except up and lower but no screws in there. No way to remove fascia laminate boards on cabinet. So do I need a magician?
@slambonie2 жыл бұрын
I dont know. Check again and look for little raised pcs of wood. If you see them they are caps. The screws are located under these raised circles. Use pliers or screwdriver to remove the caps. There has to be something to hold in the frame. They put the TV in then put the cover on. Has to be. Keep looking.

I'm not sure. Sorry, a dealer might have better and more accurate knowledge of your coach and what options you have. Wish I could be more help.

Mount a 32'' flat screen inside the wood frame on my 05 Seabreeze lx and used the top metal bracket from the old tv to hold it in place.Then got 3 strips of oak from home depot to fill in the open space....

I wanted to add, he said to use two people, but he was able to do it alone.
@6713joe10 жыл бұрын
Warning, don't do this alone! It is a good video, but my 2004 tropical TV may be heavier, or may not. I did the front 4 bolts and put in safety wire so the bottom panel could lower about an inch. Even then I could not slide the TV out, so I took out the back two bolts. As the one on the left came out, the bottom panel dropped and broke the safety wire on the left side, and the tv rolled out, hitting my forearm, head and left shoulder, knocking me out of the way. It hit the dinette pad that I had on the console, and rolled between the passenger seat and the console. Stunned me, but only cuts and no damage to the RV. After that I removed it from the RV by rolling it out. I just wanted to warn others, that it is especially difficult. Incidentally, the speaker surround assembly goes up a little into the roof, so I had removed that. The TV was not being restricted by the top. I had loaned out two cargo straps, but I should have had a strap around the unit to keep it from falling forward. Be careful!

WOW. Sorry to hear what happened to you. But as a note to others. Do whatever you can to remove the TV without removing the rear bolts. I did not have to remove the rear bolts on my rig. I actually kept them snug (Not tight, but not loose either) so that the snug bolts wont let the front come down so quickly. I kept some tension there in the pivot joint. Removing the rear bolt sounds like a whole different problem. I always pictured the front tipping down so I could slide the TV out. Like I did but if your not able too do that then definitely use screwdrivers or something similar to insert into all your bolt holes for safety. Wire (Hindsight) probably not the best material to use to hold up a 65+lbs TV and any jerking motion or just maybe the TV tray cut through? I know you needed to drop it a few inches but now people know not to use wire when trying to hold up the TV. Use something that is stronger (Cable?). If you must you can still take out the rear bolts safely if you have too but make sure you or someone else is lifting up on the TV while unscrewing the bolts then as soon as the bolt comes out you insert a screwdriver to safely temporarily hold up the TV . Without someone lifting on the TV. It could drop and fall like what happened to 6713joe. Once all the bolts are out and screwdrivers are in all the holes you will need to get a few people over to slide out the screwdrivers out one by one and take on the weight as the TV is lowered. Not all RV's are the same. It appears some National RV's are different and may need some different approaches. I fell bad for 6713joe but now at least you have some additional information when taking on this task. Do not to use wire or zip ties or anything that cant take on 75lbs or to be safe 100lbs. You need something strong to put in the holds as you remove the bolts. If not a screwdriver something strong that can easily be removed when the time comes.

Darrin Nason Thanks Darrin, your comments are right on. Your video was a big help. I did have boots with steel toes on, just in case. I am fine, but when that TV pitched out it was quite a shock, lol. I wanted to warn people to not have anyone standing around who could be injured. If you can do it with the rear bolts in, it is perfectly safe. I could not do it that way.

What a goofball. It's just a tv it isn't a solid block of lead. If you would have some muscle maybe that wouldn't have happened.

Nicholas Kurnik That is pretty rude and inappropriate considering the guy is just trying to give a helpful hint to others.
