Many tractor owners utilize their loader on a regular basis, but some situations require it to be removed. Neil demonstrates how to remove your loader from the machine, and how to connect it again when you are ready for it.

Thanks for the video. As a new tractor owner this was one of the most stressful things I did with my L3901. Like another poster mentioned I made a cheat sheet with the exact steps. Only place I have that sits level enough is my garage and it is very tight for the tractor making it more stressful. I have hilly areas that I mow and bushhog and it feels much safer with the loader off...but can't leave it off without losing my garage so swap it every week. In the process of building a barn and then I can leave it off until needed during mowing season. Looking forward to the next video!

All of these videos make it seem so easy ...and I suppose if the loader is parked on a hard surface so it won't shift, twist or roll over time, and the loader frame hasn't been warped/stressed in some way it probably would be easy. Perhaps at some point I'll have to give it a try.... But I'll probably have to get past the memory of helping reinstall the loader on my grandfather's IH Hydro 86 before then. That loader had been parked on dirt/grass for a few weeks where one side settled in more than the other. If I recall correctly the loader booms had also spread slightly wider and had to be forced back to the proper width in order to slide onto the tractor's loader frame uprights ...not sure if it'd been stressed in some way during use (or manufacturing) or if it was just weather/temperature changes that caused it to spread. One of the more memorable (but less than pleasant) tractor memories I have working with my grandfather -- much like getting a PTO-driven post-hole auger bit stuck on a large rock at ~6ft deep and having to dig the bit back out.

You've gotta be very aware of the hoses when you are putting the loader back on too. One of my 3rd function hoses got between the loader mount bracket and the tractor frame bracket and no amount of moving the loader around could move it enough to get it free. I could have disconnected everything and backed out but that would most likely have ruined the valve on the hose. I ended up using my car jack and some pry bars to get things lifted and moved around enough to free the hose. Just be very aware when driving in to the loader that you have your hoses free and clear.

At 10:48....somewhat seems to have commandeered your operator's seat LOL. Great video, had no idea how the not so quick attach loader removal worked. I'm assuming some tractor loaders don't really come off easily at all, in you need several tools to remove/reinstall the loader on some models, rather they're not actually made to be removed. Oh and at 11:41, if ya wonder where the key to your tractor is LOL. I have a BX2680 the loader removal/installation isn't exactly quick and easy for me, actually just about had a mishap with mine the time I tried the removal/reinstall process. One side of the loader didn't drop back in the J-bracket and almost tipped the loader sideways into the tractor. Luckily I caught it in time, otherwise it may have been one of KTAC's dumbest insurance claim issues LOL.

Neil - you do not need to lift the front tires off the ground at all. All that is necessary is curling and dumping of the bucket. The bucket movement will be more than enough to release the pressure on the pins and also lift the arms once the pins have been removed.

@@MessicksEquip I watched all the videos on KZbin on the loader I have and there's probably more to it than that. I bought at least 7 other Kubota's with the loaders that were more like the one you have now with maybe a little different stands from model to to model and have never had any problems with them except for the few times like you mentioned that you might have to wiggle the control around while trying to get the tension off the pins. I'd trade the new loader I have for one of the old style loaders in a heart beat. I've been real busy and when I get some time I'm going to take the loader manual and go from start to finish to see if something just wasn't assembled correctly from the start it's the only thing I think could be wrong at this point and I'm hoping I can get it woking as it was designed because I'd really like to be able to remove it for when I'll be mowing.

We tried to take the loader off our MX5200 and could not get it off. It’s a new tractor with fifteen hours on it when tried to do it. @@MessicksEquip that would be great but I think after watching this video we did it wrong. We disconnected the hoses before the loader was free of its connection to the tractor. Next time we will do what is in this video and disconnect the hoses after the loader is free of the tractor and will try to wiggle the loader a bit back and forth the encourage it to come free. I'd really like to take the loader off when mowing so to greatly reduce the length of the tractor and mower deck. Taking off the loader would also reduce pressure on the front axle.

@@MessicksEquiptoday the loader was successfully disconnected from our MX5200. Thank you for uploading this video. Taking the loader off transforms the tractor as it’s so much easier to manoeuvre in our orchard. We followed your instructions, giggling the loader back and forth after the pins were removed. The loader pins easily came out beforehand, demonstrating the quality of Kubota manufacturing. After moving the loader up and down a bit it popped out of its connection to the loader brackets and was free. I was so happy. Once we have mowed all of the grass we will try to put the loader back on. So we will watch the video on putting a loader back on. Thanks again.
