Great explanation. How do I find that named image now? Files? I’m clueless
@jbcard103 жыл бұрын
Well, it worked for my iphone 12 ! Thanks ! Another way: in the files, select a pic, hold it, then a menu appears , then choose rename ! Done !

Is their any way too rename a picture in the Photos App without moving the picture too files? I swear I did I a year ago somehow now I can’t figure it out. I have old photos that have titles…maybe it was in memories

This was the only solution I can find as well, but it seems to create a double of the file on your phone. I’m working with high definition video, so was hoping to label my footage before uploading, but naming it as a copy cause me to run out of room very quickly on my phone?

I somehow was able to choose a photo to be an icon for a photo album it was it some time ago. I don’t remember how I did this.

This isn't renaming the photo, it's exporting it and giving it a new name. I'm sure this works for someone looking to share the files with others, but doesn't help anyone who wants to rename their photos WITHIN the Photos app. 😢 So far, the only solution I've found is to rename the photos in the Photos app on a Mac, which then syncs to the iPhone.

True! however not everyone has a Mac and still need to rename the photos somehow.
@WaltDittrich3 жыл бұрын
@@BusinessGrowthReady That is also true, which is all the more reason there should be the ability (feature?) to rename photos within the iPhone Photos app.

And you still aren’t renaming them completely.

exactly! you would think in 2021 that apple would have a simple feature to rename a photo on your photos app. 🙄 i also have a samsung and this has never been a problem

After I transfer items to let's say SD card when I go back to iPhone to delete the image or video doesn't have name so is their away to see name ex IMG 1111 I can see this after I transfer but not before so I can't go back and permanently delete.

Once renamed can the photos be viewed in the Photos App?
@BusinessGrowthReady3 жыл бұрын
No don't think so, As we are copying (the act of saving) the photo to another folder... All viewable via the Files app. The end goal would to transfer photos to the cloud, none Apple computer, printer or designer. video coming soon on that

Are you losing a lot of photo definition with this process? I think your RR pic was only 237kb not several mb’s. My wife is trying to send sensibly named photos of her art work to her website builder.

no photos stay the same size - just done the same video for android and editing how to email files without losing image quality, so will try to get that uploaded by tomorrow

I had that same question. However, the exported file is still HEIF file type, like in Photos. The photo is not renamed in Photos, though.
@fraukatze38562 жыл бұрын
Short answer: No you can’t if you want move it to another device and keep the new name. I want to upload the photo to a blog running Wordpress. I can easily rename them on the Mac. But tonight I wanted to do it from my iPad. Wordpress works fine from the iPad. I can do everything except giving the photos a name I use to track them. This a real flaw from Apple. Fix it, guys.

You can't transfer the name of a photo with a photo from iCloud to a windows PC. You can only transfer the photo not its name. This for me is a major design flaw within apple software. I will never waste anymore time in naming a photo stored in iCloud as the name can't be imported to a windows PC, only the photo its self. I will seek out and find and use another photo cloud service.

So many design flaws in Apple software :/ They design it so that there is one “correct” way to use it and if you need to do anything else it’s a major hassle. For instance, if you want to free up space on your phone and you use iCloud to store your photos, is there any way to delete it off your phone while retaining it in iCloud? From what I can tell the “syncing” allows you to have it either in both places or neither :/
