Another tip that could be mentioned is using the FX filter "Smart Upscale." This will use more pixels while upscaling to get a sharper image per frame as it will make the 1080p video actually utilize 4K amount of pixels instead of simply just stretching 1080p video to 4K, as every 4 pixels in the 4K video will be wasted and only blurring every 1 pixel from the 1080p footage or video. They have videos on KZbin here that explains this better, but basically, just helps to get rid of blurring and give the encoder more pixels and data to work with while upscaling. :)

After multiple trial and error, I found a solution by switching NVENC RC Mode from "VBR" to "Constant QP Mode" in render settings. Maybe someone will find this helpful! Good luck y'all!

iOS Frenzy That's KZbin's compression, and the only way to get around it is to "unlock" a higher bitrate by uploading in a higher resolution such as 1440p or 4K.

I rendered a video in 4k my bitrate was 80,000,000. everything else was the same.. uploaded it last night. This morning. its still only 1080. I've heard there is a really long wait time for 4k but all the things I heard that on were years old. How long should it take these days before it will show up in 4k?

It can be pretty hit and miss. For me it usually only takes 10-20 minutes, but I believe KZbin does some prioritization based on views and / or channel size. It can also depend on the video size of course, a 5-10 minute video will always be quicker, at all resolutions, to process when compared to a 30-40 minute video, for example.

8-bit cuts the render time down quite a bit however the color palette is degraded. Also since your setting both high & low bitrate at 68, why not just set it at 68 fixed rate? 😎👍

The two values I set for the bitrate are actually maximum and average values, not maximum and minimum. So doing it this way still allows for frames that don't need it to be a lower size, thus saving space and render time.

On the project setup, I noticed in the Field Order, you have it to Upper field first, but on my by default, it's on None (progressive scan). Does that matter?

Hey there bro! couple questions I got for you 🖐 I've being dealing with some issues around my videos when I watch them after the render is done; I see little cuts during the videos, the best way I can describe it is like if there was a little shake that lasts for a fraction of a second and happens from time to time, you probably know what I'm talking about, but if not I can link you to some video and tell you exactly where that occurs. I won't say those affect the whole video in a serious way, and although they aren't extremely noticeable for a viewer, I DO NOTICE THEM 😒 and what makes me nuts is that none of these seem to show in the original video before doing any render. Despite not being a big issue, I still wanna get rid of it, but don't know the exact cause. The only thing I was considering as a possibility is maybe it's due to upscaling, since I've being rendering my GoPro 6 videos recorded at 1080p 60fps using this 4K template shown here nowadays and previously doing it with another 1440p 60fps template also set up to fit in KZbin... finding this mentioned issue in both cases. I even remember trying rendering for a second time and these shitty shakes are shown in the exact same part of the video, confirming it wasn't just an isolated error during the process. On the other hand, I just started filming the originals in 4K 30fps a couple weeks ago, and only rendered one video (with this video's template), which seems to look pretty good, but I was thinking if rendering at 4K 60fps can cause any issues since it was originally filmed at 4K 30fps, unlike my previous videos which were always filmed at 60fps despite being 1080p. This doubt came up because a render went wrong when I tried changing the frame rate and the variable rate values around project and template to the option that I though it would fit for a video filmed at 30fps instead of 60fps (those options of 30.000 and 45.000.000 as said in KZbin)... and it resulted in a total piece of crap as the video ended up all mixed up, showing a map I include at the beginning, covering the screen during the whole video while listening to it, which of course shows something went wrong as hell. Nothing of it happened when I used this one template that I've used before (60fps) with different qualities. Sorry about the length of my questions, hope you can give me some advice. Barricade2091 I don’t know how you can cut the render time down but you can download handbrake and it basically makes the file not so big without losing any quality.

Your probably not using NVIDIA NVENC. Either that or you need to update your system regarding your CPU because it shouldn't ever be on 100%, maximum 80.

But honestly my CPU is still high idk why tho but gpu is working well too so it's faster. Also when I had the problem I was using the nvidia boost too so idk why it was like that

Hey bro, although I started to record in 4K now, I've got some videos recorded with GoPro 6 in 1080 60p ... would those look better if I use this 4K template for the render or I shouldn't even bother? I used to render those in a 1440 60p template and it works out just great... so I wonder if it still work for 4K. I use VEGAS of course

The video files themselves won't look any better, but if you're uploading to KZbin they definitely will. This is as KZbin allows a higher bitrate for 4K uploads.

Yeah, check the link in the description. If you upload at 1440p60 then you can render at 24Mps, which should show a big improvement.

i know im 2 years late but make sure the aspect ratio is write and if you are doing 16:9 make sure the pixel ratio is 1 instead of 1.3 and if you are viewing a 4:3 video on a 16:9 display then you will get black bars

Do mean they're blurry or the colour is bad? Because Vegas will often destroy the colour of videos, but if the bitrate / resolution doesn't look right, then I'm not sure.
