I love the way you don’t get bothered y all the bees around you. Thank you, you are my hero, I hope to be as brave as you one day. 😊

I did an experiment where I had honey coating a clear glass jar and put it next to an empty comb. Then I put it out and watched the bees. The bees were mostly ignoring the jar for the first day or so, even though it had more honey on it than the empty comb. I thought I'd discovered something, but then later I realized there might be more latent sort of deposited sugar in the bottoms of the comb than I thought even if its tiny amounts. (There was a normal amount of wax on the empty frame of came, but it wasn't anything special either way on wax content.) They eventually started to pick stuff off the clear glass jar. It also made me wonder if they rely on scent more than sight, or... vice versa, and to what point. ... Thanks for the video.

Interesting! I love your bee experiments and musings! I would think that bees use their sense of smell more so than their sight. Or maybe it took them longer to figure out what was in the jar? It's possible that they didn't recognize what was inside despite it being clear.

What are your thoughts on using an oven for rendering wax? I have done it recently but, not with dark comb.

I have heard of people using an oven, but I don't use an oven because I don't want the smell in my house, I don't want to risk dripping wax in the oven and wax is flammable so it's a fire hazard. I doubt my homeowners insurance will cover it :)

How does it work for you? Are there things you wish you could improve on?

For small quantities I found an old microwave does a good job at melting wax.
