My guitar literally came today and I checked it. Unfortunately I came across the same problem but thankfully I found your video. Much later I'm gonna try to do it on my guitar cause I don't have time now and I hope it's gonna work. Thank You man, I really appreciate it. Keep up the good job

Thanks for this video!! Instead of bending the metal I got some double sided tape over the piece so it would raise it's volume, worked just fine. I just didn't remove the protective paper from the tape so it wouldn't stick on the strum.

@@lorenwillcock I got as far as the housing for the strum bar and i couldn't get those screws off. Do you know what tool I'd need? I had to order a Philips 0 to get the 4 screws where the neck connects but that won't get the screws for the strum bar housing. Thanks!

wow.. So simple.. I was about to buy new ones too since, BOTH my original guitar hero guitars finally gave out. xD I was about to be very sad because I've had them since 2010. Thank you for the video.

Hey man I’ve got a problem where I can’t split the body into 2, it splits from the base fine all and up the body but when I get to the neck it’s like it’s still being held down by something. I’ve taken the four screws out from there but still doesn’t budge and I don’t want to go full monke and break it haha. Any suggestions?
@lorenwillcock5 ай бұрын
Make sure all labels have been removed and you’re not missing any screws. Also make sure if there is a removable face plate… There might be something hiding under there. If this is a model that you can remove the neck on make sure you remove that. After that I would assume there is some kind of plastic clip inside holding it together but it’s kind of tough to be sure.

Thanks man! Now I'm glad I didn't throw them in the trash... Just one question: Do you need the special "triangle" screwdriver to fully open this?
@PonchoGGaming4 жыл бұрын
PD I have the same guitar, just the wii version :)
@lorenwillcock4 жыл бұрын
The best I can remember I did not need any specialized tools for this but each model is probably different... I bet you could pick up one of those triangle screwdrivers on amazon for a fraction of what it costs for a new guitar tho.
@PonchoGGaming4 жыл бұрын
@@lorenwillcock I did it! I just needed like a 6 pointed star screwdriver, did what you showed and now it works fine! Thanks for the tutorial! :)

How do you remove the cover to get inside the guitar controller? Cause I’m having the hardest time to remove the top from the bottom. Please let me know.
@lorenwillcock Жыл бұрын
There can be screws in multiple different places throughout the body. If the neck is removable you will want to remove that first. Also some models have a removable faceplate. It is usually just hold on with some clips that you cannot see and you just need to get a thin screwdriver to pry that off gently. There could also be some screws on the back of the guitar body and they are often hidden behind stickers.

I feel that my world tour's guitar strum is really soft, It doesn't center at all and It isn't as strong as the Les Paul of GH3. Maybe this could help me out?
@lorenwillcock4 жыл бұрын
if the construction of your guitar is similar to the one in this video... and you feel the strum is weak it could be the momentary switches like in this vid but it is more likely that the springs on the strum are worn or maybe one is broken... its easy to take them apart and put back together so I would just open it up and take a look.... Probably could order the springs on line.

I've opened mine up and the down is not registering at all but the up works fine any idea on how I can replace the down button?
@lorenwillcock3 жыл бұрын
Well, first I would test it it’s just maybe the metal tab on the momentary switch that needs to be adjusted by bending it… Sometimes those little metal tabs get worn out and need to be adjusted so that they push the little black button that resides under the metal tab all the way down. If that is not the issue then you will need to see about ordering a replacement momentary switch for your guitar.

The body on my controller won't come off all the way, only half way. Trying to fix a wired version of this guitar. Should I force it? I don't want to break anything obviously, I would lose a lot of money
@lorenwillcock Жыл бұрын
First i would double check under any labels. Warning labels or stickers etc. any rubber plugs or anything like that. They like to hide screws behind that kind of thing. I have never taken apart a wired guitar. It is possible it is just held together with plastic clips being part of the body but i dont know for sure.

Hey Loren idk if you’ll see this but any tips on a guitar that is adding in random strums when you aren’t even touching it? But then other times not registering strums? Mine just broke tonight playing with my cousin and I’m devastated I wanna try to fix her before I replace her
@lorenwillcock Жыл бұрын
Could still be that momentary switch. You could try adjusting it like in my video. But the switch could be wearing out entirely. You might be able to purchase a replacement switch somewhere. You could pull the guitar apart and then try to play it using just the switch instead of the strum and see how the switch behaves. If by activating the switch on its own the guitar works properly then the switch is probably fine and might just need some adjustment. Also if it’s adding in random strums it’s possible your springs are either out of place or wearing out. These are the springs that return the strum to its neutral position. You could try replacing those. that would be the first thing I look at. I’m assuming this is a wireless guitar?

So I replaced the switches in mine, but the strumming sort of gets stuck. Like I have literally have to center the the strum bar in order to be able to strum again.
@lorenwillcock3 жыл бұрын
sounds like the springs are either not installed properly or worn out
@biofreak963 жыл бұрын
@@lorenwillcock sorry what I meant is it does move back to the center, but I have to completely center it in order to strum again. If I don’t it doesn’t make the click noise.
@lorenwillcock3 жыл бұрын
@@biofreak96 it sounds like perhaps the clearances of the switches are too tight so to speak. The small button under the metal tab on the switch may not be able to fully extend up unless the strum is perfect. So the metal tab may need to be bent slightly in such a way that the strum can rest at center without depressing the small black button that resides under the metal tab on the switch. You may need to bend the metal tab on the switch in two places. Up and away from the switch body closer to the button (which is under the tab) and then back down at the end opposite the button. this would make it so the metal tab would have to be depressed further to activate the button and the strum would have to be ... strummed more to activate the button.
