You're the man. I had a pumpkin blow-up for almost 10 years and it wouldn't get up this year. I felt the vibration and was looking at ordering motors/power supplies but this fixed it for nothing. THANK YOU!

I turned my inflatable upside down---and that released the stuck motor. But if the inflatable is old and the fabric has become so porous that it does not retain air, I've sprayed a wax based product on it while the fan is not running to "plug" the micro-holes. Thompson's Water Seal is one brand that worked for me.

Ok, the fan turned easily, when plugged in the lights work but for the motor, no soap. My question is, are these fan motor permanent magnet motors? The reason I ask we have had several of our blow-ups this year where the fan has puked and over the past year they were stored in a hot outdoor shed. They worked fine when they were packed away and I’m wondering if the summer heat did the magnets in.

I just plugged it in to set it up in our lawn and the fan began inflating it, but it would not blow up all the way; the surfboard was very floppy, the back of Rudolph's chair couldn't stay up, and Santa doesn't have enough air to keep standing up. @chasetheinflatablegod3 жыл бұрын
Your fuse is out. Locate the plug, on it you will see a thing that says open, using your finger nail in one of the 2 groves of it, slide it up in the direction of the Arrow. You will see 2 fuses. A broken one and a replacement one, the replacement one should just come out by holding the plug upside down, the bad fuse you will need to use something to get it out, once you have it out put the new fuse back in and close the sliding thing that covers the fuses, then plug it in and it will work

I had someone in the comments asking what the melting process is or how to know if your inflatable has it/ detect it. If we flash back to 2019, when we thought that the fabric on the inflatable stretches and that’s how it gets worn. I was messing with my jazz band, replacing lights in the tree I think, anyway when I felt the inside of the tree, I realized how sticky it was and had no idea what it was At first I thought that they had spilt something on it or what not, but after feeling the inside of the rest of the inflatable, that was when we found out that fabric doesn’t warp. The nylon fabric has a coating on it... So what is the melting process? The name “ melting process” was just a name I came up for it because that’s literally what it is, the coating melting. The melting process is a result of an inflatable being stored in a hot place such as an attic or shed or even a garage. When inflatable is subject to heat or humidity for too long, The coding on the actual inflatable starts to melt off resulting in a sticky and oddly smelling residue. I don’t think it always smells but in some cases it has had a distinct smell. What’s the melting process has taken place, there is no stopping it. You can try putting it in the freezer, just leaving it alone or taking it out of that hot environment. It won’t help. So how can you tell if your inflatable is in the melting process? The easiest way to tell is unzipping The Inflatable and feeling the inside of the fabric, if it’s sticky then your inflatable is the melting process. Don’t panic if you have an older inflatable and it feels a tiny bit sticky, that’s just old inflatable‘s being old inflatable‘s. inflatable’s in the melting process feels sticky like honey or tape How long before the inflatable fully wears out? Every inflatable is different, on classics, it can range from an hour to a week, if it’s a newer one, well, they don’t wear out, they just get sticky. There is a difference between the melting process and worn, on worn inflatables, there’s spots where the inflatable can be see through but not in all places and doesn’t take place on all of the inflatable, in the melting process, it just completely wears out the whole inflatable Every day we do research trying to find the exact sealant used so that we can use it on worn inflatables. More recently we found out that Gemmy doesn’t cost the fabric, it comes coated when they buy it, it’s called waterproof nylon or polyester, so for those of you that say gemmy coats it, that’s not true. Hope this helps.

Some times in bad cases you have to take the top off the fan and use WD40 and spin it
@PalmettoMoon3 жыл бұрын
I'm having this same issue. I replaced the capacitor and no luck. Lights work but fan will not spin even when turning by hand. The fan motor gets very hot. Nothing locked up. I'm at a loss because I can't even find an answer on Google. Motor is a YEF-8225

I'm determined to get it to work! 🤣🤣. If only I could find a wiring diagram for the Yef-7125 motor. I replaced the capacitor and no dice

@@ryancasselman1182 Good luck. I can NOT find a replacement (motor only). I bit the bullet and bought the whole thing with lights. I actually bought the YEF-80 and it works great as a replacement.

In bad cases, you might have to open the fan and move the blade with your hand. Or the motor could simply be dead.

Doesn’t have to hum. Not all motors do, this fix should still work, if not the motor is dead, but if no power was getting to the motor then the lights wouldn’t be lighting up

My fan inflates the character, but it falls over. What to do if the fan runs but not at the proper rpms?
@chasetheinflatablegod2 жыл бұрын
Has nothing to do with the fan then, your inflatables fabric is bad and air is seeping through the fabric. There is no fix for that
@jeff_90742 жыл бұрын
@@chasetheinflatablegod hmm okay. I checked for holes and it's about 5yrs old. Only used for Halloween. Didn't realize the fabric could be an issue. Would a bigger fan work then? I really like this decoration and no one sells it anymore.

@@jeff_9074 do you live in a hot area or maybe stored the inflatable in a hot place such as an attic or shed or garage? Depending on how poorly it inflates a bigger fan should work, could you maybe link me to a video of the inflatable you are talking about? Maybe like if someone uploaded a video on that item on KZbin? I can’t take a look and let you know
@jeff_90742 жыл бұрын
@@chasetheinflatablegod thanks for the responses! Yea, I do leave it up in my shed attic when stored which would get pretty hot in the summer. Here is the closet video I can find to what I have. The one I have the fabric goes all the way down to the base, and it also has another more cloth fabric on the front draping it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqCvlH58m954m7s

@@chasetheinflatablegod it will inflate it properly, but the top portion will sometimes fall over. I only ever had problems when the front material was wet, and would weight it down until it dried. Now often I come out and it's bent over.. so I just assumed the fan was getting weaker.

Sometimes motors can be locked up beyond this fix, not beyond fixable but beyond this fix. Open the top of the fan to expose the blade and manually turn it while the fan is on

Thank you so much! I was looking for a similar comment to mine but didn't see one. We have an inflatable Grinch who pops up and stay up for a little while. This year he begins to collaps as soon as he inflates. Couldn't find any holes or tears. Is there a problem with the fan's blowing mechanisim? Thank you for your help. I too love to fix things if I can!

All of what you expanded is in a community post I made, For some reason KZbin doesn’t let you send a link to a community post so, if you go to my channel, click on community, it’s the third post down that talks about the melting process.
