I was wrong in the video, it does matter which wire connects to which terminal. I guess every time that I had done it before I had got it right on the first try and just assumed that it didn't matter. I apologize.

So how do you know which one goes where? Just whichever set up turns on the system?

Yeah, touch each one while the batteries are in there until the monitor comes on

As to polarity: when monitor is oriented as shown at 0:07 at start of video, i.e. face down with cut out in body (that would be for the plastic clip of the battery holder, if'n ya had one) at bottom and internal contacts at the top, the left contact is POSITIVE and the right contact is NEGATIVE.

Great video. I made a battery pack with aligator clips until I get a battery holder. I did have to match polarity.

Jump a short wire from what's left of that post (just tape it on there) run it to the battery compartment
