Pushing the pin out was tougher than I expected. Ended up using a larger screwdriver. Make sure the valve isn't screwed all the way down or you risk damaging the cone to hole interface more while you're torqueing against the center piece to get the pin out. To refinish the cone I chucked the center piece into a CORDLESS DRILL and used a diamond file then some fine sandpaper to get the groove out. Works perfectly again now and hopefully is good for another 5 years of service. Thanks for the video!

Just remember to get the descaling solution through the steam valve. I use food grade Citric Acid 10% solution.

Milen, thanks for the great video. I tried to push out the pin as you describe. It wouldn't push out, and looking closer, it appears to have been deformed or soldered to prevent the pin being pushed out. As Todd mentions, you want to avoid applying TOO much pressure against the stem of the valve as it might damage the cone seat or O-ring. Removing the entire valve (DeLonghi calls it "Tap") requires undoing the compression clamp at the steam line AND removing the top of the boiler, and that's another level of complexity.

Extremely useful video. I tried to remove the pin by pushing out, before seeing your video, but I could not. Tomorow I will try much harder😁

I tried but still leaks water. Can I cancel the steam by blocking the screw? Maybe wrap it in teflon tape, will it work?

I need to replace complete steam valve - upper + lower part. Lower part is attached with a nut from the bottom. How can I reach it? I am not able to uninstall upper part of boiler, despite I unscrew all 4 screws.
@milenstoitsev66763 жыл бұрын
You need to disassemble the boiler and unscrew the nut that holds the steam valve on the inside

@@davidko89 I had the same issue. The boiler is made out of two big parts with a large o ring in between. It is affixed to the metal carrier inside. You need to unscrew the metal carrier from the plastic, then unscrew the 4mm Allen bolts (with nuts that you gained access to by unscrewing the carrier), then delicately pry open the two halves. You don't need to unscrew the concentric screw holding the mesh (but it's a good idea to clean it while you're at it).
