Base coat you can keep aside for later use. طبقة أساسية يمكنك الاحتفاظ بها جانبًا لاستخدامها لاحقًا.

Our OEM base coat comes Ready To Spray unless you specify differently. يأتي معطفنا الأساسي من OEM جاهزًا للرش ما لم تحدد شيئًا مختلفًا.

Im about ready to start painting a 1995 Tacoma; it will be my first automotive paint job. The original color is a red metallic. I'm considering going with a solid color after seeing the difficulties with metallics. If I paint a solid, is base-clear easier than single stage? Im reading contradictory opinions.

Laying metallics isn't crazy difficult it just require's you to do a "Drop Coat" which we have tips on in our "How to Paint a Car" Video(s). Base/Clear vs. Single Stage - in general Base Clear is considered a higher quality finish and creates a depth to the color that you won't get with single stage - it's also the industry standard at this point. We'd suggest doing a practice panel or two to dial in settings and get comfortable. Both will require similar movement with a spray gun - normally the deciding factor is cost - single stage will be cheaper. We have a good walk through of a drop coat in this video at 14:40 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIuad2mdotJ7aqcsi=96Vi38ic6W8eC2ze

looks like it might be cheaper and a lot less work to just buy a new bumper. I have a cheap tradesman that I sanded to bare metal with my grinder and pad, the put rustoleum over bare metal...lasts about 3 months and then it's bleeding rust again. How do you stop this permanently before I don't have any bumper?
@eastwoodco8 ай бұрын
With rust there's always a couple options, cut and weld in new metal, sand blast, or in your case wire brush, rust encapsulate (hold up much better than traditonal paint) and then bodywork/top coat from there. That's what we did on the C10 frame video we released recently. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXXUZoCvhtungsU

@@eastwoodco Thanks, I'll give the rust encapsulation a try as this is for my tradesman truck....I don't have much money for anything more now and it's not worth much attention all said and done.

Cost to repair: $100000 Car worth: $2000 I’m broke, lol 😂

There's always a cost-benefit analysis to make when repairing and restoring cars. The idea of a car being "totaled" by an insurance company is simply that - you can pretty much fix anything it just might not be worth it. That said it's a lot of fun to restore something you like and has value to you - even if the resale price isn't what you have into it.
