Oh my god dude thank you. All this time I thought my drivers got all messed up when really it was all a hardware issue! Though all I did was just remove and replace back the same card it still fixed my problem! Time to go surf the web on my laptop again 😄

This what i am going to attempt to do. Im thinking mine is loose. But i feel like mine is a software issue. Reformatting will fix it. Until windows slams me with updates that i cant stop. Then its gone again.

I just wanted to take out some time to thank you for this video. it helped me fixed my lenove X1 Carbon wifi which just stopped working for no reason. I was able to locate the wifi card which looks similar but smaller to the one in your vid, take it out clean it and put it back and it started working again. Thank you so very much. From Africa.

I thought the can-only-connect-locally problem was related to the security protocol. When I upgraded my router, I went to the WEP protocol and my laptop wouldn't connect anymore. I upgraded the Wi-Fi card, which would work with WEP, and it worked great. I was using Ubuntu.

thanks, You may be right in some cases. Windows is a bit more stubborn when trying to configure security protocols and WEP devices and a quick swap usually fixes

Are Wlan chips neccessary to turn on a computer ? I've had computer repair done and the guy told me that the "wlan chip connector was broken ''. Other than that, everything else was fine when he switched out the motherboard but now it doesnt even turn on .

I have a laptop here and it keeps cutting out on wifi and you have to get Win11 to reconnect to home wifi work which is working on other laptops and devices. Would it be a hardware problem and replacing wifi card might fix it?
