In today's video I will show you step-by-step how to repair the spark plug connectors on a 2004 Lexus GS 300. This is a very common issue on the 2JZ-GE inline-6 engine. The connectors are located in a valley in the engine bay and the constant heat causes the plastic connector housing to become brittle and break, leading to loose connectors and possible misfires.
You will need to remove the throttle body assembly to access the spark plug connectors on a 2nd gen. Lexus GS 300. I cover that in another video:
• How to change spark pl...
This method should work for most electrical connectors used in Toyota/Lexus models. Remember to check wiring and take pictures before removing wires to avoid possible errors in reassembling the wiring.

Thanks Chap! I don't have a need to do this, but glad there is a video for this. If possible, can you edit video description to include the part number? 🙏😎🙏

Thanks for the video !!!!!!!🏆🏆🏆 I have an 02 GS 300 145k and want to ask, was it the codes that made you want to change coil pack or did you notice this the worn connectors? Is any performance issues associated with bad coil packs? Thanks Amazing video

Hello! That’s a good question. I did get a misfire code on one of the cylinders but it was due to old spark plugs and not due to the connectors themselves. I just decided to do the connectors since I was there and if they became loose in the future it would be a pain removing the intake to get to them again. Thanks for watching! :)
