There's a hole where u can put something in to keep the pulley in place once pulled forward it's a small hole can lock it in place to remove most don't know

I have a coolant leak. I put coolant in it and it seems to have a leak somewhere because the coolant keeps disappearing from the resiviour. its a 2012 ford focus hatchback but the engine is the same as in this video. do you have a video that shows how to fix it.

great video! I seem to have a leak on my focus ST? I noticed the fan cutting in a lot! its not normally on unless the air con is on! and while in traffic I noticed the temp needle go up to 3/4 then back to the mid point (assume the fan came on). I only drive 5-10 miles in one trip!having had a look I noticed there was coolant in the tank but it was below min. so topped up. it took nearly 2 litres.this morning I checked and it was still full. then drove around 10 miles and now back to the same mark as before I filled it?I don't see any liquid but haven't looked hard enough I'm sure.any suggestions?

I have a 2015 ford focus and I'm unsure where the thermostat is at but I think its similar to 2012 do you recall if it's right there next to the water pump

My problem was my coolant reservoir cracked it was underneath so I had to really look so bought a new one for a bit over $40 and worked great

I had a pipe changed as it was apparently leaking 2 weeks ago since then ive had 2 top up the coolant everyday as it goes way under the min line. Any advice ? Garage that did the work is connected to the place i brought the car so have closed due to lockdown again and its really freaking me out 😑 paid over £800 for my car to be worse than ever

My 2012 for focus se hatchback will not turn over and says engine malfunction, hillstart assist unavailable.. will not kick over. It did overheat once. And did replace the starter. Had it on ramps and rolled it off in neutral before trying to start. Like i said there is a new starter.. dont know what else to do that i cam myself

I checked my collant tank last night and it’s milk shake.i checked my oil it’s clean and look like regular oil.Car doesn’t over heat or leak on the ground nor does the engine loose power.

Easier to take the front passenger fender liner out and do the water pump through there

I have a 2012 Ford Focus heavily modded, but I baby tf out of it. I went to my man Frank and he said that I need to replace the water pump cause it only leaks when it runs, he's the best at what he does but he's a GM technician. Is his diagnosis accurate?

Great video extremely informative .. I narrowed down a los of coolant to water pump ( I assume ) after ‘min of running there is moisture ( water ) building up underneath the pump .. am I wrong to want to replace it ? Car has 51 k miles is that common for water pump failure?

It's just that on the video it appears kinda green in colour to me. I moved mine from Australia to Ireland and mine is starting to leak also.

Nice video thanks for adding I have leaking coming out of the pipes under the dashboard that going to the heater core heat and cool still works I pulled out the heating core but I'm not sure if the problem is the o ring or the the heater core as the heater core looks new and clean I put water in the heating core and blow out its looks circulating fine any idea thanks Ford Focus trend 2013

To be safe. I would say heater core with O rings. Most cases it's the Heater Core.

My 2014 has a cracked overflow tank on the radiator degas bottle, soaked my engine mounts and destroyed them. It cracks where the fitting meets the housing. Is it an easy repair? Do I need to drain all off the coolant out? Also, how do I bleed the air out of the line? Ford wanted 395...figured I would ask. Thanks!

I’m not sure by memory. But a lot of times they’re still bleeding he can run them for a little bit shut them off let them sit and run to be a cook and topping off the cooler. Otherwise sometimes just like bricks. There’s a bleeder school screw on top of the thermostat housing you put water in with the engine off until you see crew that coming out and then

Hey man, enjoyed the video. i have the same Focus 2012 1.0 Ecoboost and my coolant keeps disappearing. i do not have any leaks in the engine and hoses are ok. Though i smell the coolant from the air vents. a sweet smell that is. Any help?

I would say the heater core is leaking. Check for coolant coming out of the AC drain condensation port

Hey mate. I had coolant leaking into drivers carpet and the back of the car. I fixed it 3 months ago. It was pain in the ass to disassemble the car and clean/wash it from that nusty smelling coolant. The problem was a melted o-ring of 2 cooling pipes next to the clutch.....

You can still get to the water pump, just a little tighter getting your hands down there

Hi Sir, I have ford focus 2012. I always put 2 litres coolant after 3-4 days. i dont see any leakage. sometimes the speed of Air vents increases or decreases. what will be the reason. any idea

Have you had the cooling system pressure tested? That would be my first step. As far as the air vent increases and decreases speed at the blower motor. Possible blower motor or problem alternator etc.

Hey quick question. I have a 2015 Ford Focus Diesel and i have a problem with the coolant. The coolant appears to be leaking internally. Sometimes when the tank is empty i open it slowly and as i open it some of the coolant fluid comes back through the pipes and the tank fills itself up again! Sometimes i open it and as pressure releases, it stays dry... i am spending so much money on coolant now. Also sometimes i turn either the heater fan or air con and the engine temp goes up and for example if i want hot air, it blows super cold air... so the aircon messes up....whilst the engine temperature is high (over half way mark) then all of a suddeen the engine temp gauge drops back down and then the air comes back and works as per the setting (i.e: if i have heaters on... blows cold air... once temperature gauge drops, it blows hot air).... i have had the head gasket checked as well as EGR cooler valve and was told this is ok. I also replaced the coolant tank and cap... problem persists .... please plesse please help...

Enjoyed the video. I have a 2012 Ford Focus and took it to the dealer since I was getting a High Engine Temperature message. They told me it was due to a "coolant bottle leak" so my uncle and me are trying to see if we can DIY it. Would my issue then be with the tank or is there something I should be looking out for? There are no apparent leaks.

The coolant bottle is most likely the problem. But, it would have to be leaking. If you change it. be sure all the air is bleed out of the system.

Wow...the car must have either been in a wreck or someone took it drag-racing! I mean...it's a 3-4 year old car with a broken motor mount, a broken AC line, and a bad water pump. The water pump should last 200k, and the AC line and motor mount should last forever! I can't imagine that all this stuff broke through normal wear and tear.

I have a Volvo C30, and those motor mounts easily breaks. And yes, it has the same engine and mounts. And it seems that I need to change my water pump as well. Sigh.

Coopers Automotive Repair i did that also the pcv & hose now since the water pump broke will change the motor mount also hope that solves the idle probleam since the motor mount is broken.

I had this problem on my 2000. Could be the idle control valve. Had mine replaced and it was fine.
