Long screws are a number 6 or 8 electrical screw. Used for screwing outlets or light switches. At lowes in hardware. Plastic tub pretty cheap.

How did you crack the hips

I usually will go in from a side or area that isn't visible or less visible when fully assembled. If you can find a seem then you can carefully drive a tiny flathead screwdriver in and around the seem to get the adhesive or heat press to split. Sometime you may need to use a razor to get a crack started. Be careful and take your time.
