Never could get rubber stopper and lines in fuel tank so i took old stopper and replace fuel filters. I took the gamble it worked great. Cranked right up! Hadn't used this weedwacker in 10 years. Easy fix!

I believe that the ladies are the future of small farms. I'm happy to share what I know. I have a lot of friends of the female persuasion that want me to create videos on how to operate all the little machines too. I have a lot of information that I want to share, haha. I could do 7 videos a week, daily, if only I had the time. That's a chicken and egg situation. I want to make videos every day but I'd need to stop farming, but without the farm I have nothing to make videos about. I'll keep these mechanic/handy videos coming with you in mind Julia.

Great video, entertaining and informative. My HIPA Echo maintenance kit is on its way. Thanks! HIPA kit arrived on schedule and only $14. Took me longer than a half hour, but worth it to have it running again. And, someone needs to create a tool to get the rubber plug seated into the gas tank. That was tough. Thanks again.

Suggest using a little soap water solution to the rubber part of the fuel filter. Makes it slippery and easy to install, soap does not contaminate and water will evaporate.. You can use this idea for all rubber parts.

Hey John I need some help if possible. Before, my wacker would start and run just not full throttle. I then followed the video and even cleaned the carbon filter in the spark arrestor. Its first start after putting it all back together it ran fine for a minute or two until I shut it off. Great video. Ended up replacing carb on my SRM-225 as well as a new spark plug, new air filter, and removed spark arrestor. STILL runs like crap above idle. Can the muffler itself be a problem? I haven't seen any self-help videos mention that. They're not inexpensive either.
@austech3604 жыл бұрын
Typically.. You have to tune the jets on these new carbs. There is a flat blade adjustment screw in a very tiny hole on the side. I believe that is the high. and then down the middle of the barrel. In the center where it pivots when you pull the throttle. Down in there is a flat blade adjustment. Gotta remove a plug. Look up "hidden adjustments on weed wackers" You'll find a video by Small engine Saloon.

@@austech360 I ordered a HIPA kit... I also replaced spark plug, removed SP arrestor, all fuel lines, gaskets, air filter, gas filter - basically everything in the kit. Still didn't run at top speed... I adjusted the high speed jet below the fuel bubble to get it to hum pure and strong.

My Hipa kit new carb needed a high speed adjustment to get it to top speed. Not sure if these guys have the same kit... I'd take out the brass cap first thing before you install the carb back on the body, that way its just a jewelers screw driver adjustment away from being a great day!
