Since plastic items stretch during their use, it is not appropriate to try to stick their shard together with hard adhesives (they are adhesives whose residue is hard when dried).
As soon as the plastic article flexes, hard adhesives (such as a mixture of Japanese and baking soda or baking powder) are separated from the plastic and broken. In addition, the resistance of hard adhesives to water is very weak. More importantly, it is very difficult to bond PP or PE derivatives, which are the general raw materials of plastic goods, with chemicals. Although it may seem stuck at the beginning, it leaves the object to which it is glued after a short time.
Bonding process In the industry, bonding is done by ultrasonic vibration or by melting the plastic and boiling itself again.
ABS (HARD PLASTIC)
It is used in welding of automobile plastic and motorcycle fairings. Automobile bumper plastics, Mirrors, Front Shutters, Rear Stop Connection Feet and Motorcycle Exterior Fairings are welded. Better results are obtained by cooling from the surface.
Welding work must be done for all parts. A thin electrode should be used on the front and a wide electrode on the back. Leveling and cleaning should be done at the end of welding. Better results are obtained by making tangent support welds at the start and end points of the weld at intervals.
POLYETHYLENE (PE)
It is used in glass water or fuel tanks. The source must be cooled by air. Welding should be done after washing the inside of the tanks. Tank mouths should be closed and tested with compressed air.
Welding work must be done for all parts. A thin electrode should be used on the front and a wide electrode on the back. Leveling and cleaning should be done at the end of welding. Better results are obtained by making tangent support welds at the start and end points of the weld at intervals.
POLYPROPYLENE (PP) (SOFT PLASTIC)
It is the most used plastic material on automobile. Bumpers, Air Filters, Fiber Front Panels, Headlight Plastics, Door Trim and Radiator are general usage areas.
Welding work must be done for all parts. A thin electrode should be used on the front and a wide electrode on the back. Leveling and cleaning should be done at the end of welding. Better results are obtained by making tangent support welds at the start and end points of the weld at intervals.
POLYAMID (PA)
Intake manifold, Water radiator chamber, fiber-free front panel and plastic fenders are welded
