I just bought the giga cut 750mm after watching your review. So far it's working out well. Thanks for your videos!

hi Sal great video I did the exact same thing to my ts 60 shortly before I saw your video, purchased ts 60 in 2000 and it cut a lot of tile with it my question is at contractors direct you can purchase the new breaker giving double the breaking power from 881 pounds to 1654 pounds calling your snaper a rubi ts 50 plus!!! any thoughts thanks
@SalDiBlasi7 жыл бұрын
Don't really know if that will work, best to contact Rubi or contractors direct.

Hello I have this cutter and am trying to cut 12 x 24 inch porcelain 9 mm tile with a bit of texture. Cutting from 24” down to 22” keeps cracking the tile. What scoring wheel do you recommend to get a nice deep score?
@SalDiBlasi6 жыл бұрын
This was an old cutter, and really not suited for hard porcelain tile that are made today. I would suggest you invest in a new cutter that can handle modern dense hard porcelain tiles.

wow i was only wondering today where my one went, Rubi are great cutters for doing them Narrow cuts. But over all you cant beat Sigma Cutters those things could go trough hell and back and still work.

Hlo Boss, I have a problem with my Rubi fast 85. Recently i was cleaning it as I had screwed out all the nails but after assembling it again I couldn't cut any tiles better coz I can't slide on the rails up to the end where I snap the tile. Like in the Middle of the rails I can slide easily but reaching the end to snap the tile I feel a certain hardening. Please help me how I can solve this coz I really want to work again thanks.

Measure the distance between the rails, they may be bent. Or the pivot might be sticking or frozen like the one in this video.

I had 2 different types of Rubi dry cutter, last year i bought Masterpiuma P3 and i wish i would got that earlier it's much better in many ways than Rubi.

Do you still use the kristal gigacut? What cutter and wet saws would you recommend?
@SalDiBlasi8 жыл бұрын
Yes for tiles bigger than 20 inches. Rubi has some really good stuff check them out.

What tile cutter do you use for 24" tiles on a diagonal?
@SalDiBlasi8 жыл бұрын
I have a Kristal Cutter that will cut up to 29" tiles.
@nsmith22098 жыл бұрын
I have looked at them, which one do you recommend to cut 23 5/8 so technically I need a cutter for a 34.5" diagonal. Thanks for all you do, I have watched almost all of your videos and learned so much!
@SalDiBlasi8 жыл бұрын
N Smith Rubi Makes some really good cutters, but any cutter that size will be a significant investment. You will have to see how much you want to spend, and then decide which direction you want to go.
@nsmith22098 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I will look for a rental as they range for 400 - 900 from what I can tell.

I don't understand if a tile cutter can cut a 36" tile straight, why it does not cut a diagonal of the same length?

My dad taught me how to lay tile, from the begging he told me that my job area is my dinner plate and my tools are my silverware. Just a thought.

Some paste wax on those guide bars every once in a while will keep that thing sliding smooth

I keep that in mind.

I bought my almost 30 years ago and it looks like new, this guy needs to take care of his tools, what a nasty tile cutter.
@SalDiBlasi5 жыл бұрын
Wel if you don't use it, it will always look like new, if you install tile for a living like I do it will look like mine in no time.

WD40 is your friend :/
@SalDiBlasi8 жыл бұрын
I tried all kinds of things including wd40, the parts were just worn and tiered, i cut a lot of tile with it for many years before i had to retire it.
@JeffOstroff18 жыл бұрын
WD40 is not a lubricant, it is a water displacement, hence the name WD. Too many people incorrectly try to use it as a lube. 3 in 1 oil is best to use on the rails and wipe off excess with paper towel.
