How to replace 40+ year old capacitors in the SAS1 Auto Speed Unit of your Seeburg LS2 Gem. If you found this video helpful then click the LIKE thumbs up button and leave a comment so others will know it's useful to watch.
Is your record playing too fast or too slow? The auto speed unit controls how fast the record turns on the turntable. Either 45 RPM for a typical 7" 45 record or 33.3 RPM for a small hole 7" record.
As a Seeburg jukebox owner you have learned (sometimes the hard way) that 40 year old electrolytic capacitors need to be replaced because they go bad over time (even sitting in storage for 20 years).
This SAS1 auto speed unit was working ok most of the time but was starting to fail. So I recapped it. Actually a quick enjoyable task. Important to get the correct capacitors ahead of time.
The auto speed unit is actually located in the middle of the control center. You simply unplug it and remove the 4 hex head screws.
My disclaimer: I am not an expert Seeburg Jukebox repairman. This is a hobby. I make mistakes and learn as I go. Always refer to the Seeburg Manual. In this case - the LS1 and the LS2 manuals.
