Nice idea but where are you supposed to put that huge power supply? Especially if wall mounted your not hiding that thing

It is admittedly thicker than the ACDP-240E02, yes. But it has the benefit of freedom of choosing cable length so you can just place it on the floor near the power outlet...and if you really do want everything concealed then I guess you do end up ponying up $120...I see they've gotten cheaper. But for most people we talk to $120 is still a lot of money (sadly).

As a follow-up....I saw how the customer has handled this. They have mounted the box on the wall behind the TV without a problem. There's about an inch more distance before the TV itself. I guess there are tiny mounts and not so tiny wall mounts...theirs must be the later kind. We do not do installations so that's not something I am very experienced with...but apparently the depth wasn't a problem. I can show pictures if anyone cares.

I just wish you would have stayed on subject: Sony XBR-65X930D with bad power ACDP-240. I have the exact AC power adapter that I'm assuming is bad--it heats up to 191 F and the usb connector is partially melted and it has a white ring around the usb edge. The effect is the TV just turns off. So...rather than having a fire start, I was hoping to learn that by replacing the power adapter it would fix the issue. Or if there was another cause. Btw, Sony is selling the power adapter for $280 and another $15 for the cable! Compared that with buying a new Sony 2024 LED TV for about $750. Granted, it maybe a lower model but gain 8 years of updates.

The title of this video is "How to repair Sony XBR-65X930D with bad power ACDP-240E02", not "How to repair bad power ACDP-240E02". The video is very much on the subject on how to make the TV work when the power adapter is bad without having to spend $150 for a new one.

You talked for 6 minutes and did not say anything; I had a headache after listening to you.

I am so sorry I had caused you a headache. Maybe the second time it'll be easier and on the third you may actually get what I am actually saying because it does, in fact, work for our customers and saves them money and it seems to have worked for a few other people watching this video. Does not mean it has to work for everyone, of course, nor does it promise to do that. Headaches are definitely not intended effect, however, and should be taken seriously. I recommend consulting with a specialist or if the pain doesn't stop call 911.
