Thank you for this video. It helped me remove a piece of broken plastic from inside the handle that was preventing the switch to move to the carpet setting.

Nicely done...the handle on mine had a loose connection--the vacuum kept turning on and off as I twisted the handle. This video showed me how to open it up to get at the wires. Turned out one wire was broken and the connection between the broken ends was obviously not stable. After opening I could strip a bit of insulation off one end and reset it in the clip. Then following the video to put it all back together was fine. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for the great video. You just helped me fix a lose wire in our old Kenmore Canister vac. We use it in the basement. You rock.

Your video helped me fix a loose wire in the handle, exactly as described by a prior poster - thanks! It was a week inside the 1 year warrantee so they're sending a new one, but it's been over a month now and hasn't shown up so whenever it does I'll have a spare I suppose..

Thank you for the video. Couldn’t figure out why the hose came out of the handle. This was the exact handle I had.

Great video! In my case, the carpet mode works. It triggers the agitator brush. But when I put it to Floor mode, or when I just want to use the wand, there's no power. Could your repair in the video be the potential answer?

Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video. it sounds like it could be either the switch or a loose wire, both of which would likely be revealed/accessed using this video to pull the handle apart. BUT before taking anything apart, I would first try the RESET button on the floor cannister if you haven't already. Good luck with it.

This saved me from having to buy a whole new handle assembly because I would’ve busted it for sure - THANKS!

Thank you for this! I thought I had a dead motor -- turned out to be a wiring issue inside the handle. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mImlqpSbZ5yAY7s in case it helps anyone else. I linked back to this too. Thanks again.
