Do you mind me adding to your video Alan as I’ve spent way too much time repairing (in exactly the same way as you’ve detailed) the window blinds on our 2020 Elddis? I used to carry out the repair and everything was fine but then the string would would pop off the runner again and we were back to square one. I then realised that there are small, square, plastic covers that actually fly off when the string pops and they end up either in the velvety covered guides or even laying below the blinds. They’re about 1cm square and once you’ve re-sited the string, slide over the string guide and wedge in place, thereby preventing the string from popping off at the horizontal to vertical junction. Just thought it might help anyone watching your video to know this extra little bit or indeed you, if yours pops off again. Having caravanning 😊

Thanks for that Stephen. I'll have to start searching for them if they were there in the first place. Will be pinning your comment. Really appreciate you taking the time to add your knowledge. Thank you 😊

Meant to type ’happy’ rather than ‘having’, god bless autocorrect! You’re welcome re: the comment, on the large side window blinds, it’s very likely that the clips fall down the air vents and onto the floor under the seat whereas on the front blinds, you just see two pieces of square plastic that you can’t place so you hopefully put them in a drawer as my wife did and not throw them in the bin 😳

We have sister Casita and blinds is one of the differences. Ours are roller blinds that are in fixed side runners, hence no strings. The negative of our system is all or nothing: no intermediate opening like yours.

We had exactly the same problem with one of our blinds on our Elddis Crusader, I fixed ours over 18 months ago and had no further problems, them little black wedges eh.

Alan.. the two slides, at the bottom were they held by anything else but a screw to each ?
@Coffeevaners2 жыл бұрын
In our caravan, it is 2 small screws on each leg at the bottom and 1 long screw at each side at the top. The whole blind then just lifted off the 2 mounts at the top.

@@Coffeevaners cheers Alan . I'm looking at middle front blind...same van as yours and seems to held by something else mmmh. Thanks anyway.

I'm going to be in the caravan today so I'll have a look at ours and if I find anything, I'll come back to you. The blind I repaired was on the side window. The fronts may be different. I'm intrigued now so going to investigate 🔎 🤔 👍
