I’ve actually never seen a Ranger belt before. Very nice. Great video.

Good morning Freddie! I do like the ranger belt myself. My Ranger belt was the first belt that I made. It was to repurpose hardware from my favorite belt at the time.

It’s nice that you could extend the life of a favorite belt.

It's definitely a repair that's worthy. You wouldn't have it any other way.

Wow. What a change from prior to your final coat of oil and clear finish. Wow. Shocking how you got it to blend to match the color

Very nice and detailed video! Thanks! What is a ranger belt used for?
@InMyBusyLittleShop3 ай бұрын
Thanks Randy! Today its use is just a typical belt. Years ago they would have been 3” or 4” wide and used as a gun belt.

Was wondering myself how you would match that pateena, I was thinking a drop of two of dye in some oil and experimenting. The no glue for future repairs is a great idea.😊

I might play around with some dye in the oil.

I really like this project and the explanation you provided which gives us an insight into your decision making and thought process. The color match came out amazing and the overall build quality of the new billet gives the belt a new, beefier, and quality look. Thanks, Robert. Also, what do you recommend for a replacement glue brush--synthetic bristles, natural bristles, etc.?
@InMyBusyLittleShop3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. If the product is solvent based then natural bristles. If water based then manmade. The brush in my contact adhesive is somewhere around 18 months old. Maybe more.

Thank you, Robert. I also use the standard Weldwood contact adhesive, so the natural bristles would be what I'll go with. I appreciate the additional information.

Where is your new knife ? Wouldn’t that be great for that cut ?
