Hi Lenny, big fan. I think you do a great job with these videos and you've helped me with so many repairs I couldn't possibly begin to name them all. Just wanted to offer gentle correction where the dielectric grease is concerned. It doesn't allow current, it inhibits it. It should only be applied around the outside if the male portion of the connector, not near the metal contacts. You don't want grease to get on or between contact points because it will prevent the current from getting through. The purpose of dielectric grease is to prevent dust , moisture and debris from making its way into the sensor/plug and corroding or fouling the contacts, and also, particularly where spark plugs are concerned, the grease helps ensure that the current doesn't escape and cause a short on a nearby component. Much less of a concern with these sorts of plugs but imagine current passing through it while engine is running, and you happen to reach nearby shortly after water has infiltrated the plug. You could end up with a zap on your hand or wrist if you get too close. With this particular plug it has that accordion boot, and that boot pretty much does everything the grease is meant to do. It's not a bad idea to apply grease around that accordion boot also, just to help ensure a nice, secure, dry and clean plug, but you as long as the accordion is in good shape you can do with out the grease here.

Not the vacuum switch as the title of the video states. This is the indicator switch. The vacuum switch is on the transfer case.

So if the dash light doesn't come on does that necessarily mean 4wd work? In other words can the 4wd engage without that light being on?

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 1998 4x4 with the 4x4 light flashing on my dash. I replaced the light switch indicator and it’s still flashing. I purchased the light switch from autozone. My 4x4 engages with no issues while changing the gears manually and 4x4 light turns on and off with no delays. 4x4 light only flashes while driving on the road. Not sure what is going on. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Nothing really wrong with video . the teflon tape you used is perfect but you put it on backwards. I'm a mechanic and pipefitter .
