Weird question...the supply line and return line blue and black the two lines coming off the fuel pump? I replace the pump and seen the lines are breaking apart. Every line is fine but them 2 coming off the pump.

Yes, you would need to replace them both in this case.

3/8" nylon is what I used. Take the old connectors and fuel filter itself to your local Autoparts store, they will have a variety of connectors to fit. Then heat the nylon line with a low level setting on a heat gun... keep it far away and slowly bring closet until the nylon gets soft. Then you can press them onto the new fittings.

Make sure you have the fuel filter arrows facing the direction of fuel flow, easy mistake.

Absolutely, may also be clogged injectors, or a fuel pump, but start with the fuel filter for sure.

It will make the system work harder and not get the proper amount of fuel, so yes it will use more fuel...

Where can I buy a new fitting/connector? Mine won’t snap in due to the gaskets inside came out of place? I have a mk4 golf. Of course the back fuel connector going up to gas tank needs the new one and there’s no slack. Any ideas

From what I read I’d have to drop tank a few inches to pull new line up from fuel filter area as well as pry the tank over a bit to let the connector fit up there? I’m sure a pain but would your method hold? I’m afraid of the line popping off. Not sure how much pressure it’s under

Damnit you broke it.. plus fule and heat gun. Idk man. Most people can't change a light bulb. Let alone put a heat gun next to the fuel line🤣

Obviously the pressure has been released, and fuel in the line would drain, evaporate off to a degree. The heat is applied to a sealed system at which point unless you breach the line, chance of a flame being produced is minimal. However for those pushing the envelope of reason and common sense... make sure the lines are drained and completely dry... Thank you for watching!

@@nikasumo you can cut the end off, get a barb connector and then heat gun them together, they are nylon.

I brought the fuel filter down to my local Autozone and got nylon shrink fittings. Just make sure you have no fuel in the lines when you use the heat gun to shrink.

@@GarageMahalLife Thanks! We ended up having to replace the hose from tank top to the filter. Pushed a piece of wire up the existing hose, then cut the connector off at the top and pulled a new hose down to filter.
