How to Replace a 2013 Toyota Avalon Alternator

Just did that job on a 2014 Avalon. Access to the alternator is much easier if you remove the fan shroud from the radiator. Does require draining the coolant and removing the radiator hoses, but saves some of the headache when running into clearance issues.

Sir, you took apart way more than you had to. When your new alternator fails rebuilt by a 3rd grader in some 3rd world country. Next time remove the exhaust heat shield and unbolt oil dipstick and remove the alternator to the right of the radiator fill...Easy peasy and done in 45 minutes.@darylvoorhees2629
