Great video. Are there any tricks or methods for removing the negative terminal when it is extremely corroded?
@JohnCRV Жыл бұрын
@@simonkeane5053 If the terminal is hard to take off you'll need to get a battery terminal puller. there's a link in the description of this video you can click on or pick it up at any auto parts store. Wear gloves and eye protection when doing this.... Let me know if you have any questions..

My daughter just called and said she needed a battery. Im 4hrs away so I told her to go to Oreillys or Autozone. They wouldn't touch it. She went elsewhere to get it done, but if she hadn't found someone, I was going to send her this video. She's a nurse too, BTW.

Did you change out the battery yourself Amanda?
@misfit765 Жыл бұрын
They aren't allowed to because if you short the ecu or fuse block on the top of the battery. It's expensive and a dealer only part and causes a lot of headache.

This video was awesome! I'm not fluent in DIY car repair but consider myself semi-conversant and this was perfect step by step. Watched the whole thing 1 time and then restarted as I was completing the install and paused after each step to complete the task and came back and pressed play. Didn't go too fast or skip any seemingly insignificant steps. I knew exactly what to expect with each step. A must follow.

Perfect video, thank you so much. Had to deal with this on my wife’s 2010 Equinox in below zero temps-your video really nailed the step by step to take the guess work out. I unfortunately broke the three plastic rivets trying to remove with a flat head screwdriver but those can be easily replaced. One thing I encountered was a very corroded terminal to the negative post. Nothing I tried would release the terminal, including WD-40. I ended up buying a Battery Terminal Puller tool that solved my problem in about 10 seconds. Thought I’d share in case that saves anyone further headaches when you get to that step. Lastly, shame on the Chevy engineers for creating such a difficult design to access what should be a simple fix. Totally ridiculous.
@JohnCRV Жыл бұрын
I agree with you on all points made!. Those rivets can be easily replaces and the puller is always handy. it usually happens when they overtight the terminal clamp and the the battery swells up on top. Goo you got it going. 👍 and thanks for the feedback.
