How to replace a battery on 2009 BMW 328i Part 1

Batteries on below BMW models have to be registered into the cars computer after installation. You can do it your self with BMW scan tool or have a dealer do it for you.

Thanks for this video. I am in the process of changing the battery in my 2008 328Xi and the red cable with the black connect came out and I don't know where it goes. Can you please tell me where this cable goes? Thanks in advance

@@MeadowgateWorks Thanks. After doing some research I believe the other end of that wire is connected to the lower part of the frame via a terminal connector. I triple checked and didn't see a washer and nut so I'm thinking the previous owner had the battery swapped out and that wire was never reconnected. I don't know if its possible for the car to run without it but there was a lot of corrosion when I went to swap out the battery.

I believe it is IBS cable, intelligent battery sensor cable, monitors battery condition.
