I'm just watching this just for fun. Yeah I remember my uncle complaining about customers not understanding that his Autozone location doesn't work on BMW batteries. I think I'll just stick to my Honda Civic until BMW learns not to make their cars so complicated to fix

As soon as I disconnect the negative terminal. My alarm 🚨 goes off Not sure if that’s normal. Any advice

Make sure before you disconnect the battery you unlock all the doors with the remote. That should do it

@@Motorcarnut thanks for your reply. I have done that. I unlock the car with remote. Then proceed to disconnecting the negative alarm 🚨 goes off regardless. Could it be a bad module. It started after a really cold start. I Acudent ku had my leg pressed on clutch it’s a habit. I didn’t let the ignition run for a bit. Since then it’s been on and off. When I start the car alarm 🚨 goes off not all the time. I notice it happens when I start car with out waiting for glow plugs to warm up. Sometimes even if the car has been running and warm. If I start it clutch down as I start the engine. It goes off. Hope that helps. And thanks 🙏 again

I have a 2011 BMW 535i do I need to reset the computer or can I just swap the battery I buy straight from auto zone ?

No reset of the computer but things like the sunroof may have to be relearned.

You have to program the battery to the car so it adjusts the voltage

If your particular model calls for it then yes. But most don’t and will relearn by itself.

If you are just replacing an old weak battery with a fresh new one it will relearn. If the battery was left dead for a long period of time than it should be recoded to the vehicle.
