Love these tutorials. The dealership quoted me $75 to do this. (Hmm, maybe I should promote myself as 'Cabin Air Filter replacement guy'. LOL)

😱 $75! That is messed up. It’s not like you have to pull out the dashboard to change it.

😂 Jiffy Lube just quoted me $54 to have this filter replaced in my 2012. Outrageous! The grift never ends

Chris, there is alread removable panel inside glove box and you do not need to completely remove glove box. Just uncover panel and and reach filter easily ;)

This video was not very helpful for me but I did find one at ScubaMoto that was very informative about using the appropriate access panel without disassembling the whole glove box and even gave pertinent information on air flow direction.

Can you please tell how to replace the knee air bag in a 2013 Prius V ?
@alysonchapman19355 жыл бұрын
Thank You ! Took me 45 seconds to replace! Saving of around $50.00! Now that I know how easy and cheap this is I'll replace more frequently!

The smaller access panel works, but it's easier to access how he does it here. More room. Thanks!

Two things for Prius V cabin air: 1. You don't have to drop the glove box, there's a little door, super easy. 2. The official Toyota filter has an arrow going up which means the arrow goes up when you out it in. It is *not* the airflow. If you have an airflow arrow, it points down. Confusing, but makes sense in a strange way.

You do know you don't have to lower the whole glove box. There is a purpose built access panel in the glove box. Just pull down on the two tabs at the top of the open glove box and the panel drop out and you can get to the cabin filter from there.

Thank you! I was just going to ask about that panel.

Harry Pottar, you're absolutely right. One time, I'd explicitly told the service dude not to touch either of the air filters. Yeah, they messed with the cabin filter at least. As I was driving away, that little mini-door was rattling like crazy inside the glove box.

LOL - I did what was in the video and then saw the panel when I dropped the drawer and went, "Waaaat? There's a little panel that you drop and reach through, how cool. An engineer designs for convenience, a company goes to the length to make an extra piece (the little panel) for convenience." So yes, just dump the junk in the box, find the panel lower it and change the filter.

Just took my 2015 prius V in for the final complimentary 20,000 miles oil filter and tire rotation. The dealership checked this cabin filter and wanted $41.50 to replace it. No thanks sweety, with this video and purchasing 2 fram filters from Amazon at $18.99, I'll do it. Thanks for the video and comment tips!!!
