This was like sitting in calculus class, where the instructor would skip steps with a casual "from here it is intuitively obvious." This is little help to a rookie doing it for the first time . . . next time spend the time to explain the entire procedure. Too much detail is far better than not enough.

Itll be fine. Ive had my indoor fan outside for 9years now. Time to replace it
@Andrew-qu7lq3 жыл бұрын
indoor fan blades can warp over time, (as mine have) but many brands will sell replacement blades that are indoor/outdoor so you can replace the blade itself rather than the entire assembly. Personally, I'm swapping my 3 indoor sets for outdoor ones that are on my covered porch because birds/spiders/insects get inside the non-sealed light area very easily and make a huge mess all the time.
@KODoch482 жыл бұрын
If you live in a hot and humid (especially!) climate, you want plastic blades! Other types will generally warp and/or mildew in the humidity!

I know installs depend on a lot of factors, but is replacing a fan really this easy? I need to replace 2 in my home. I can't really afford to pay someone. But don't want to cause a short and set my house on fire either.
@texasred27025 жыл бұрын
A lot depends on the age of your home. The older it is (like pre-1980) the more likely you'll encounter an unpleasant surprise. If the outlets in your house are 3-prong, everything is probably up to code. If not, you might need to do some kind of adaptation. Both Lowes and Home Depot offer classes, and I also recommend the seejanedrill channel here on KZbin.

@californiadreaming92163 жыл бұрын
David G if electrical box breaks do the following: 1 Cry. 2 Console yourself with high-octane beer. 3 Curse out the dyslexic overpaid 1st year engineering student who designed the electrical box. 4 Curse out all Liberals (unrelated but ALWAYS makes ya feel better). 5 Contemplate returning to post-secondary school so that you can engineer a better electrical box. 6 Fantasize about how, at a meeting with your peers, you will make the 1st year engineering student hang his head in shame while you verbally tear apart his work. 7 Drink more high-octane beer. 8 Eat some unhealthy food. 9 Enjoy a 3-hour power snooze. 10 Repeat as necessary until you feel better. Hope that helps. Good luck.
