Great video. Exactly the one I needed. However, I am having a problem that you might can help. At about the 1:25 mark you back out the white worm gear. When I spin mine counter, it doesn't loosen at all. Just keeps spinning. I am wondering if you can help me figure out what is happening. I don't want to pry on it. I feel like I am missing something. Thanks.

Thank you! All that is happening is your white worm gear is turning the gear on the oil pump. My oil pump gear was seized so it looks like I was unscrewing it. Put a small screw driver into the side and pry it upwards and at the same time turn it counter clockwise. If I remember correctly you might be able to remove the whole oil pump with that white gear in place.

Thank you I will try that. My model is slightly different than yours, and it won't allow the oiler plate to come off to access the pump until that white gear comes off. @@davekennedy52

@@joshhanna4922 Could also be that the white gear is just worn and not making contact with the oil pump gear. It might just lift out. Good luck!

Zincirin çubuğu, yağın içinden akması için küçük deliklere sahiptir. Muhtemelen engellendiğini düşünüyorum. Engellemeyi kaldırmak için ince bir tel kullanın. umarım yardımcı olur

Hello, I just did this following your video, but now for some reason my pull string is very hard to pull and skips. When I take out spark plug it pulls and turns over fine. Any hints or ideas? Thank you in advance.

Thanks for watching Playa, there are a couple of things you can try. First check your flywheel key to see that it is not worn or damaged. Have you tried with your chain removed? Is the chain not too tight? If you have a 4 stroke motor, it will be the valve gap. I presume you have the correct spark plug, if its too long it might be hitting the piston. Also check the gap on your coil. After a lot of pulling you can flood the engine and cause it to hydrolock (too much fuel on top of the piston that doesn't burn off). Hope that helps and good luck!

@@davekennedy52 thank you for the response, I am not sure if it's a 4 stroke motor, it is the same chainsaw you show in your video, but with a Ryobi sticker. I did not have the chain on as I was trying to start it to see if the oiler was now working. The spark plug is the original that was in there. I may have to look at the fly wheel key. It didn't do this before I replaced the oiler, so I am wondering if I broke something, either by removing the clutch or reinstalling it, where I may have damaged something.

@@HDGarcia92 A 4 stroke is not very common, so I'm guessing that you have the 2 stroke like mine. The only other thing I can think of is that there might be excessive carbon build up on top of the piston. This would decrease the space in the cylinder causing a higher compression. Take of your exhaust and turn the machine by hand (turn the flywheel) until you can see the top of the piston.. Then shine a torch inside to look at the piston top.
@HDGarcia92

@@davekennedy52 thank you, I think that may make sense, as I had it on it's side while I was working on it, and some of the gas mixture may have made it's way to the top, I will check it out when I get a chance. Another think I noticed is that it moves if I go very slow but not to pull it quick enough to start. The very first pull was fine but after that its a very rough bull and if I go fast it'd skips

@@HDGarcia92 I think you may have discovered the problem. You can use a LINT FREE cloth and push it with a small screw driver above the piston to soak up any oil. Good luck with your repair

I'll try! Take the bar and chain off and start your chainsaw, just to make sure you have oil flow. If you do then the passage in your bar is probably blocked. Find the passage and clear it with some thin wire. Hope that works, let me know

@@davekennedy52 Yes, it has a rubber plug at 90 degrees that goes into the oil tank that I couldn't find to buy, I had to buy a complete tank that came without that filter but I installed the old one. That plug has a filter that seems fine. Someone also told me that it could be the vent valve..it's a hose with some kind of screw at the top

@@NXT50 Sounds like you;ve had a major rebuild. If it is the oil breather tube, here is a video on how to find and clean it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHWclqBng7pjl5Y. If its not that then I can only suggest that you remove your oil pump again and make sure the worm drive is engaging properly.

How does this pump actually work? Is there a gear mounted on the crankshaft that moves a corresponding gear on the pump? I recently bought a NeoTec 6200 which looks similar in size and layout and took apart the oiler (which also looks different but similar) because it was leaking profusely from the adjuster screw hole and found that while it has a metal gear on the oiler pump shaft, there isn't a corresponding gear on the driveshaft. So it’s a brand new saw.. and it just leaks really bad. And the sealing grommet is so loose where it goes into the oil tank that it will leak out all of the oil out within a few days if just left sitting. So yeah.. I’m trying to find or engineer something that will work. NEOTEC- Not Exactly Ok Totally Expected Crap.
@davekennedy52
@davekennedy52 21 күн бұрын
Neotec has just been added to my dictionary of useful and true quotations! It starts off with the clutch housing which has a gear underneath. When the crankshaft turns it also rotates the housing. This housing gear fits into another gear which is made from nylon (white colour) See 4.30 into the video. This white nylon gear has a thread on the outside and its called a worm gear. This thread interacts with the gear on the oil pump which is the one that you have seen on the shaft. When the shaft spins it draws oil up through the tube from the reservoir. If the worm gear thread is worn or damaged it doesn't turn the little gear on the pump but if your saw is new then it should be fine. I had the same problem with the "sealing grommet" on 2 of my saws. Check the videos on my youtube and see how I fixed them

@@davekennedy52 Yep thanks, I understand the gearing. At first I didn't think that plastic worm gear did anything because I've never seen a plastic gear mate to metal. (I'm new to chainsaws but have rebuilt a few engines and transmissions). I also think the screw adjuster on these little PF-43 oilers (what's in my Neo 6200) does little to nothing. The cam lobe on the adjustment screw, as well the ridge on the impeller shaft, seem so small as to really make a difference but maybe they do. I just know I gotta get this dang leak under control first! Thanks for the info, I'll peruse your library.
