How to Replace a CPU fan in the MSI Katana GF66 Laptop

A customer brought this laptop in, it somehow suffered internal damage and the Fan was making a really loud noise. After inspecting it, I decided to replace it with a new one.
I also Cleaned and Repasted it with an upgraded thermal paste:

You certainly didn't install a new ssd in the video, but I have a question about this. I have exactly the same laptop and I wanted to put a second ssd in the slot in the middle, but there are no thermal pads that the first slot has. Do you think that if I install an ssd without a thermal pad, it will greatly harm my laptop?

Hi The answer is no, the spot there is specifically made for a secondary ssd, and actually later I did install a samsung ssd for the same customer and it works great.

Hi It is the mobile soldered version and doesn't have a socket so it can't be easily replaced

I'm not sure about the rpm But it I know for a fact that it is seems to have very similar specs as the original and it keeps the system cool under all loads.

to open the laptop, you'll need a small phillips screwdriver, I suggest one with a magnetic tip
