How to Replace a Failing Mercedes-Benz® GL & ML-Class (W164) Front Strut

This video is designed to show automotive repair professionals how to replace the Front OE air strut on a 2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz® ML & GL-Class vehicles (W164 w/Airmatic®) with an Arnott New (AS-2792) or Remanufactured (AS-2450) OE Air Strut. This video may help with the installation of Arnott part AS-3005 for GL vehicles without ADS.
AS-2792 is a new, Arnott-engineered aftermarket air suspension strut for the front of the 2007-2012 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class (including GL550) SUV w/AIRMATIC and ADS (Active Damping System) and 2006-2011 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class SUV w/AIRMATIC. This new assembly replaces your worn OE strut, and features a new custom-tuned shock absorber calibrated to provide an excellent ride and outstanding performance. The Arnott strut includes a new multi-ply air bladder from ContiTech along with a steel top mount. This new air strut is assembled in the USA with Arnott's long-lasting seals, new O-rings, bump stop, heavy-duty crimping rings and 4mm air fitting.

Great step by step video! I just completed this on my 2009 GL450. One note - the step where you (Step 5) remove the upper control arm nut and separate the upper A-Arm this requires a Ball Joint Separator. Pretty straight forward and purchasing the Arnott replacement Strut and doing the job myself saved me at least $1000 from the dealer!
