2014 Mercedes Gl450 I removed my front, left right old air suspension struts .Having issues replacing the New ones ,I need to deflate them there full of air and to tall to fit in its place. Please Help

Was that an adm part or regular? How much was the part? What did you use?

No need for massive pry-bars or even any pry-bars! When you're ready to remove or replace the strut. Leave the top three nuts loosely fastened then compress the strut with a small jack on one of the forks at the bottom of the strut. ( I used a bottle jack). You can then get it over the driveshaft with ease. The only issue when fitting the new one, is you need to charge the system with air to re-extend the strut so you can get the anti-roll bar drop link back on. So it's wheel on then off again to get at the drop link.

perhaps, you could use compressed air (if you have the pneumatic tools) to inflate and extend the strut? rather than car's compressor. or, maybe just tire inflator pump can be used.

I am curious, how does the system control the shock as there is no electrical connection to the shock or strut?

Will be doing my 2008 GL 320 right side at home.. Where can jack stands be placed ..

I would Jack it up from the lower control arms and then put your jackstands on the rubber mounts just behind the front wheels and just in front of the back wheels. To get a visual of where these are you can look up jacking points in your owners manual.

I installed mine thanks, I have the ml63 amg 2008 suv. Car goes up and down . But when I put the shock mode in Comp mode it doesn’t do it I get error malfunction message. Do you have to bleed pump or anything else?

Bought a gl320 09 from suction front end was sitting very low ? U think the shocks r done? Or do they say automatically when the car sitts longer ?

MJS AUTO they should stay aired up for quite a long time. Most likely one of the air springs is leaking

Super Moto Boy if the vehicle has really high mileage and if the visual inspection of the springs look like they’re in the same shape as the leaking one then I would replaced them in pairs. If it’s a low mileage vehicle and it physically looks OK then I would say you can do it one at a time.

It may be different from model to model so I would look in your owners manualFor fuse and relay location.
