Hey mate. Purchased one of your window regulators and went into battle this Sunday. Your video was great - was enough to get me through. Was looking a bit grim when I couldn’t get the old regulator to release. Was also very challenging getting the window back in the tracks. Window still struggled a bit with the new motor, but after spraying the tracks with some silicone spray lubricant it works like a charm! Cheers 🍻

My driver’s side window on a 05 MKII has always been very slow going up and is quite scratched on the outside so I assume it isn’t aligning properly. It died completely with the window down and I’ve just finished following your video to replace my regulator. Whilst it’s working now it is still very slow to go up, I’m almost scared to use it if it craps itself again. Have given the rubber seals a good treatment with silicone WD40. Any other suggestions? Regardless, thanks so much, the video was excellent at helping me change out my regulator!:)

If it doesn't work, cut the cable and the whole thing will fall. Follow same procedure

No sorry. Very similar job though. Pop the broken glass of the regulator. Slide the glad on down.

Only problem I’m facing now is the car won’t lock? I’ve aligned the piece like you said at the end but it won’t lock by FOB or by using the key. Any ideas?

I noticed that the control housing does not fit perfectly in tho its cavity ,just as mine is ,is that a design fault? i also have a 2004 BA Futura with the same problem'

all very good if everything works . then you would not need to do it. window stuck half way down motor does not work only useful bit was how to undo the two plastic retainers. took half an hour and several cuts to forearms . thanks for the useful bits of the video
