should always disconnect the fuel pump fuse and remove negative connector to battery so you dont blow anything done a few of these my self and trust just take the extra 5 mins to do these 2 things will save u a headache

2003 Hyundai Sante Fes were an end model year before updating to the true 2003-04 models produced. The fuel pump installed in this video is specified for an '02 Sante Fe. You can tell by the lack of an additional 2pin connector to the bottom left of the 5 pin connector on top of the fuel pump assembly. I also know your car has no transmission oil filter anywhere. If you look top down the engine bay, they're this a filled in cylinder aluminum cut with no threads for the screw on tranny filter. (It's also not inside the pan, they're are only solenoids and wires inside the vertical dipstick pan). So change your tranny fluid every 15,000 miles instead of what's recommended or buy a new transmission... just like I have to.

ok let me try this question again im searching for a switch or a button that you press and it will tell the transmission to be on economy mode and drive and shift only on the D for drive, cause i think mines is set to Sports Mode and i have to manually shift it up to from first gear and push up to get second gear and push up to get in 3rd gear and push up to get to fourth gear to get the others its Fine P works starts engine, R works goes to Reverse, N works for Neutral, But D only works as like its on First Gear but if i slide it to the right where now the + and - is it will go like if i was driving like a stick up to all gears on the + and when it slows down or when i apply the brakes it goes down 1 gear and then i have to drive it shifting up the gear, Im not sure your following me when im saying there has to be a switch or example i have a 1997 ford Explorer in order for me to have the 4wheel drive High or Low and to engage there is a switch that controls from 2Wheel drive over to 4Wheel Drive High or Low and usually i can do this on Neutral gear, i was told from the last owner there is a switch but he cant remember where its located to use the D for Drive as standard and not have to do the up shifting while driving and that switch will say if its on economy and to use the PRND as the standard instead of using the PRN D and then slide to the right the lever and shift Up at the + or shift down - like a stick shift, i cant seem to locate that button or where its located at or is this under the console or a transmission switch issue???

Yes. It was taller then the original, so the fuel pump would not fit in the gas tank

They have the whole unit on Ebay. You have to make sure you get the right unit, that's probably what your mechanic was talking about

get the whole assembly.. the old one has weak plastic from age that could break easily & the fuel guage is made into it & it has contacts that are most likely worn. the assembly also comes with a new strainer, which is extremely important because these cars dont have a fuel filter ! it seems to me the manufacturer was wanting to sell a lot of pumps... they even made an easy access door !

Do you hear the pump come on? Turn the key on and off to prime the fuel lines. Make sure the fuse is in and not blown

Try using a 5/16 socket. It fits the bolts a little tighter than a 8mm

The pump might work. The thing you have to look for is the fuel pump strainer. Depending on the engine size, the fuel pump strainer may be different
