How to Replace a Kia Sorento Brake Light Bulb

Thank you for your video. My husband passed away on his 53rd birthday in March of this year from Covid. I am disabled so he would do the majority/all of the driving. With his passing I need to drive to my doctor appts now. I have a 2011 Kia Sorento and recently discovered my driver side brake light was out. I bought the 2357 but have not been able to install because it has been quite chilly. This will be the fist time I do anything like this, please keep your fingers crossed 🤞🏻 that I can do this. when you replace any bulbs in your vehicle you should wear gloves because the oils in your fingers will short the bulb out and then you'll be replacing it again in a few days or a couple of weeks.

Great video, just did this and the license plate light for my girlfriend and showed her that you, a woman, did the demonstration video so she should know how to do it as well. One thing though I recommend is never touch the bulb with your bare fingers or hands because the oil in them can cause the bulb to explode, happened to me and is scary as fuck.

Don’t touch the bulb! Oils from your fingers will cause it to burn it sooner. Wear gloves.

Well, Eric, I believe that is certainly true of halogen and some bulbs with silica-based glass. However, these are incandescent bulbs, so touching with your hands typically doesn't pose a problem. That said, gloves are never a bad idea.

Yes, this is easy on 'your Sorento'. But what year is your Kia? Because the tail-lights are diff... on diff yr Sorentos. The 2017 (and many other model yrs) don't have visible screws. No big deal, but there is a 'completely diff technique on most Sorentos. Just saying, 'please put the yr Sorento you have' in the title! Thanks... having that info easily listed, will HELP many more people :)
