Thanks so much for putting this video together! My conventional oven has not been getting hot enough since power tripped out recently - your video has helped me diagnose the issue (lower element has blown and I suspect this is what caused the circuit failure) and order a new one. what do you do for a built in oven with no fan and no element visible? do I have to remove it from the surrounding cabinets or can you repair the element from the front? there looks like screws around the inside of the door.

just changed lower element on Gorenje EC 7765 E, it is almost the same, measured 47 ohm on new element, thanks

Great video. Got my element out - it was shattered into 5 pieces. On removal I noticed that the bottom of the enclosure tray where the element sits was warped out of shape (thin metal). It pops in and out of shape with movement. Can it be trusted or should I just scrap the oven? It's a cheap ikea oven.

Thanks for the comments Julian. It is difficult with out seeing the cover to give accurate information. We would try to over bend the panel so it would not change position when hot and give it a try. Even if it does flex that may not be the reason why the element failed.

Sorry Jeff, we do not understand what you are trying to say. Can you repeat the problem and also give us the model number so we can answer specifically based on your machine?. Or are you making a pun on chemical elements?.

Disconnect my base element and it stops tripping the rcd but ohms it says about 35ohms over the two terminals and it gets continuity too but I’m gettin 10 ohms over both terminal to earth terminal individually

There should be no resistance measureable from either element connection to the metal sheath of any element so this suggest the element is faulty.

Don't panic Dimitri, when elements are made the surface will often get treated with oil to prevent them rusting when stored. Any contamination will usually burn off in the first few minutes so just open the windows and reset your smoke alarm. 😊

also, I can't find the model number, I know it's a lamona brand, can find numbers inside the door, three sets. but what I think is the model number... sticker inside the door had been burnt. The door seal broke and heat got to it.

+kelly ledet Hi Kelly, without model information we cannot be sure we are supplying the correct part. If you remove the oven from the cabinet you may find the model information on the back as well. If you cannot find the model number the only other option is to remove the faulty part and try and match it from the images on our website by searching 'oven element' for your model.
