How to replace a MAF Airflow Sensor on a 2012 Chevrolet Volt - Error codes P0113 / P0114

Chevrolet Volt check engine light? I recently encountered a check engine light on my 2012 Chevy Volt, which read P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Output / P0114 Air Intake Circuit Intermittent (and there were other error codes too).
Some google-fu directed me to replace my MAF sensor, which was General Motors Genuine Parts 12671616: Mass Airflow Sensor. It was a very easy and straightforward process, but I hope this video helps you!
Since replacing this part the errors have halted altogether! Yay. DTC, code p0113, the iat sensor, code p0114. p0097 diagnostic trouble code - nonda.

The other item to look for issues with is the actual wiring harness to the MAF Sensor, any issues with the wires can cause the same codes.

great vid, i took mine to the dealer and took them a week to get the part in and a week to replace (don't know why). if it wasn't covered under warranty i would've just replaced it myself

Open circuit on the IAT sensor = fuel trims mapped rich (assume cold temperature to prevent engine stalling in cold weather). Cooling fan activated (assume high temperature to prevent overheating). Didn't realize Chevrolet Volt has been around for close to 10 years.

The check engine light came on my 2012 Volt when i had a friend replace my passenger side head light. I was hoping the sensor might have just gotten a false positive because they did detach the air filter compartment because it was such a tight squeeze to change the light. By doing that do you think it messed with the sensor or do you think it was just not properly tightened back up? Also what diagnostic machine do you use to read the errors? Thank you in advance!
