Netflix: are you stil watching? Someone's Daughter: 4:16

Cool video. I love it that you are helping that young lady learn how to work on her own car. I try to do the same with my daughter and grand daughters. Of course my grand daughters are 5 and 11 but they do try. Its nice when they can show the guys how to change a tire or check their oil.

If i don't have a vise, can I mount it to the booster and bleed it with a helper in the jeep? Then install the hard lines.

Would a faulty master cylinder make your rear brakes grab suddenly and then stick on? My rear axle is overheating cause the brakes are sticking all the rear hardware has been replaced.

stripped bleeder screws are the WORST. how do I get the free play out of my pedal? my brakes are fine, but I have a quarter push until my pedal feels like it engages the cylinder, and I don't know how to fix it.

Hey buddy. love your videos and personality is best! Question? I have a 98 jeep Tj and the passenger side caliper locked up on me today where i just replaced everything less than two years ago for the same problem. Pulling to the right and smoking pads. What can be causing this? I changed both calipers, brake hoses, pads and rotors. Some say very dirty or contaminated fluid could be the cause. I looked at the fluid and it was dirty looking, just like the fluid you observed when you did the TJ caliper replacement. So my question is, can very dirty or contaminated brake fluid cause my symptoms? I didn't flush the fluid the last time. Just bleed it. Thanks bro!

If your jeep is a quipped with ABS you may need to hook up the computer to adjust the foot pedal. I had to to do this to my chevy truck I know they are different made model but may help. Hopefully this may help out.

How much shit is in the brake lines? ALL the shit is in the brake lines! Great tutorial, Jerry! I always get nervous seeing "DIY" alongside anything to do with opening the hydraulic system, but you pretty much covered all the bases, so well done! At least your new master cylinder bled pretty easily! I've had a few I've fought for hours trying to get all the air out. :)
@BackCountryWrenching8 жыл бұрын
+rhkips really that's crazy how did you manage to bleed them when they've been stubborn
@rhkips8 жыл бұрын
Bullshitkorner Patience and creativity--the former of which I am definitely not known for. LOL Some master cylinders for vehicles equipped with ABS have really bizarre designs; integral proportioning valves, extra ports, differential chamber designs, etc. Pain in the ass!
@BackCountryWrenching8 жыл бұрын
+rhkips I've never bled a ABS module, but I've noticed in my Matco Scanner for some vehicles it has a ABS bleed function. I would assume you'd set it up and the scanner would operate the module to bleed the system....... I've never done it so my guess could be all bullshit
@rhkips8 жыл бұрын
Bullshitkorner If you've separated the master cylinder from the ABS unit, it's a good idea (often necessary) to run through a factory ABS bleed procedure, but you still have to bleed the master cylinder itself first. Some cars bleed the ABS unit by cycling the solenoid channels one at a time, others have a sort of "service position" that you place them into in order to bleed the system. Knowing the factory bleed procedure can be crucial. In some cases, if you don't have a factory-level scan tool, you can bleed the system manually, then activate the ABS by driving on a slick or loose surface, then bleed it again, and do that over and over and over until the pedal feels good enough. Definitely not recommended, but it can get'cha out of trouble if nothing else is available. :)

+STEVE ROB You learned something new today
@UBBERTANKER8 жыл бұрын
+STEVE ROB i learnd about them when doing a crank pully on a hyundai which has a roll pin instead of a woodruff key so you take the pulley bolt off and try to wiggle it off but its stuck on the pin which is exposed so i tapped on it with a normal punch while puling out on the pulley and it just deformed and made matters worse lol ended up drillng it partially out
@UndergroundTrev8 жыл бұрын
+STEVE ROB I didn't know those existed either. Not sure I deal with enough roll pins to make a set worth the investment though.
