How To Replace A Mirror On A Jeep JK

In this video we Replace my buddy Christian's mirror that he broke by smacking into a telephone pole. If you don't have a heated mirror this job is even easier and it just takes 2 bolts and 5 min later you have a new mirror. This process with the heated mirror was a little more involved. You have to remove the whole door panel and snake some wires through. Its not that hard but if you have never done it before this video will give you some tips and tricks on how to do it. Car wash took out my antenna which crushed my passenger side mirror. Driver side mirror has been a little wobbly for a couple years. This video was a tremendous help. Thank goodness I watched it before tackling the mirror replacement. The string hint was HUGE. I would have been screwed otherwise. FYI I bought knockoff mirrors. Cheap Chinese crap. Do you yourself a favor and pay the little extra for original parts. Knockoff do not come with the plug and the wire on the driver side is an inch short. I needed to rearrange the wire path. I was very nervous about cutting that spliced wire. Not sure what it was for. heat? I did not splice the replacement and the mirrors move, not sure if the heat works. Replaced both mirrors in about 2 hours.

Yeah it’s really hard without the string but you can do it.

That is a good point. I’m not even sure if you can just replace the mirror glass sometimes these newer vehicles it’s all built in and you have to replace the whole thing

Matt F the light music was partially to cover up some heater background noises. Most people don’t mind some light background music. Maybe I had it too light. I have a hard time with just having a talking or no talking. The dead air kills me. Maybe if I got some more professional mics I could have no background humm so it wouldn’t be as bad without music.
