Smart way to handle small screws, a flat end object, such as a wooden skewer cover with double sided tape, twisted arounded skewer, screws should be on a holding surface ie multicloth or rubber mat, pick up screw flat surface with skewer and place in hole. this will allow the skewer to be twisted around thereby startng the screw into its thread. Cheap easy method to handle very hard to pick up screws.

It does certainly have its disadvantages, but the advantages of making them "non-removable" is that you can have a sleeker design, and how often do you really need to replace a phone's battery? @@SwitchedOnNetwork Firstly you need tools and money to get them. For all those tools it is probably the price of a full battery or more. But yes, if we have those tools, through your tutorial it is easy to replace a battery. Although I do care more about praticality than sleek design.

When I tried and replace the battery on my Huawei P20 Lite, it was so soft that I literally couldn't pry it out without bending it in all places. After my attempt to remove the battery, I just considered it dead and ordered a new one. I thought batteries were hard/solid, or at least encased with something that made them very hard to bend. Maybe it was because I used a hot plate to fry the glue on my phone? I'd really love to know why the battery was so spongy.
@SwitchedOnNetwork4 жыл бұрын
Hmm yeah it's possible that the battery became soft because of that, or it might just be very soft anyway - remember that they're not intended to be taken out by users, so the thing that they're encased with to make them hard to bend... is the phone itself! Glad you were able to remove it though, is the phone working better now with a new battery?

This new type of batteries - Li-Ion Polymer, don't have a metal layer protection, like the old type. Also they are dangerous and unstable if bent or damaged during removal. Probably to cut cost of those metal sheets used to cover the battery, in the past. Does your battery is still good after bending it? I've removed one in the past. After few months it got swollen due to bending when was removed. Dumb design. Some install easy removal glue tapes under it. Some just use a strong adhesive to prevent removal.

Thanks for subscribing! Glad you liked the video - Re: adhesive, it depends on the phone, in most cases you should be able to buy adhesive if it's required (look on eBay...) - some phones JUST use adhesive for the whole back, obviously this one used screws for the main section, and it depends if any new parts you're fitting come pre-adhered or if they need separate adhesive. You will need to replace phones even with removable batteries because the components of a phone have a certain life span too like internal memory and led.
