Nice video and explanation man. Nice find on that pebble too! Much better than that 1 minute video you referenced because I just watched it and it's terrible.

Surprised more people haven’t watched your video this is actually the best video on KZbin for doing the serpentine belt on a jeep JK because you explain where are you start the belt and work counter clockwise back to the power steering pump which is very helpful thank you very much for this video

Absolutely AGREE 100%. This is the BEST video on youtube for this job. Working counter clockwise, and explaining how to get the belt around the alternator. Using this video I replaced my belt today with ease!!!

Great Video Brother! Just replaced mine and couldn't have been easier. The main point is getting the belt behind the alternator.

Good video, nice find on the cause - that was my first question. So if you are doing a belt change as a preventative measure it is always preferable to change out all of the idler pulleys and the tensioner at the same time. Gates makes a kit for this reason that everything you need in it.

Best video on the subject. The alternator was the hardest part. Took me like an hour and a half. Thanks for your information keep it up.

Very helpful and to the point. I would add that I used a 1/2 breaker bar and used a wire to tie/hold the breaker bar in the full no tension position (looking from the front of the Jeep: to the left) so I could easily slip the belt over the power steering. I did mine from the top (except releasing tension with the breaker bar) but followed your steps on starting the belt on the crank to A/C etc. THANK YOU!

John, that's a great idea! Thanks for sharing the wire tie tip. Getting leverage can be wonky at some angles. I'm glad you found the video helpful!

Man why do people make a video but it ends up them running there mouth ,people don't get on here to watch you or listen to people run there mouth .. They just won't to see the belt that's it. That's the whole point

my Jeep getting some burning spell coming from back right side wheel. but It may not be from the wheel itself since smells comes strongly from underneath. someone told me it may be the serpentine belt, could this be the case?

Thank you! Just shredded mine and I’m at a turnpike rest area. My lady is one her way with my spare belt and tools now! ✌️🙏🏻

GREAT ESSENTIAL TIP on loosening the alternator! I actually took it right off and flipped it up and out of the way. It allowed me to feed the belt straight down from the top and while I pulled the tensioner, m’lady hooped up on the front bumper (heehee) and just popped the belt over the power steering pulley. Voila! You gave me the plan and the confidence, many thanks, brother!

Thanks for the video! What ratchet did you use when removing the alternator bracket bolts? I'm in the market for a reliable power ratchet.

I bought a Juemel 16.8V rachet off Amazon for about $70. It works perfectly fine for my use. I'm not a full time mechanic, so I'm not willing to pay $200-300 for a Milwaukee.
