Great video! I ended up going in through the top which also worked great. Popped the air filter assembly and it was really accessible. I’m NOT a mechanic and this whole job took about 2.5 hrs for me with stops to watch this video lol. Thanks!

Hey thanks, great vid and even though you warned me, I still smashed my hand taking off the line :-). Took me 2.5 hours just like you suggested. For those with stock plastic fender inners, I just took off the front 4 plastic fasteners and bent it back. Really appreciate the detailed procedure, awesome job.

Great video! Funny and informative, it helped me in changing the ps pump on my 2012. I too made a blood sacrifice when loosening the high pressure line as well!

I though it was my pump. When I let go after a turn instead of the wheel quickly spinning back it stutters back a .25 at a time. Still have no idea why. Any ideas ?

What store did you get the Castrol ATF4 from? No one seems to sell it locally where I live and we even have a Summit Racing nearby that say they have special order it.

I have a 2015 jeep wrangler jk , the steering is becoming stiff when turning, steering pump is not leaking , could it still be the power steering pump?
@JDCarsChannel2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it could be. But it could also be a bad joint

You stated the bracket top bolts are 13mm, they're indeed 1/2 sae. Would hate to see someone round the head off. Great video though

Do you think someone took the c clip out? why would they send the pump all sealed up with out a cheap c clip on the inside? Just curious man. I replaced mine, bleed the system with a hand vaccum pump and it still has a little bit of whine. def more than the stock ever had. do you get the same?
@danmulkiewicz55153 жыл бұрын
Did you prime the pump before connecting the pressure line? Basically you connect the reservoir, fill it, spin the pump by hand about 30 times until fluid leaks out the pressure line, connect the hard line while it leaks out and then bleed. That should take care of the whine if the air in the system hasn't already damaged it. Good luck. 👍
@danmulkiewicz55153 жыл бұрын
PS he didn't show this step and sometimes you get lucky...which he probably didor he doesn't care thatits noisy.
@danmulkiewicz55153 жыл бұрын
And yeah, I think he got a defective pump missing the c clip.

It's recommended to flush the entire system before installing a new pump just incase there is contaminates from the old broken pump.
