Just wanted to thank you for this very informative video which saved the day for our tank last Sunday. The manufacturer's manual would never have gotten me through the replacement of this seal. Of course, the seal began to leak at the most inopportune time. I love these Reeflo pumps. They power our system from the basement with ease. But your analysis of the shaft seal is spot on. It is a weak link. I watched this over and over again as I rushed to save our tank from disaster. Fortunately, I had a spare seal which I had ordered from Reeflo. Thanks again for a no nonsense and straightforward explanation.

It’s knowledge like yours that can be so helpful for so many. There just simply isn’t a point to another fluffy skimmer review....they all skim so everyone just move on! Personally it will be hard to every get me away from my Beckett skimmer. But showing how to do a seal replacement is so much better than reading about it and keep videos like this coming. Personally would always rather by quality equipment that is possible to maintain and service to keep running as opposed to just replacing as many now are pretty difficult to repair. Thanks!!

The seal is quite expensive from reeflo. In the past I used PS1000 but noticed that there is also PS1000V using Vinton instead of rubber. Do you use PS1000 or. PS1000V? Your video is very thorough and well put together.
